IC : Seagate 500GB 7200.11 HDD

I'm interested too.

Btw which perform better... the WD640s or this one? Also I'm a bit concerned about shock damage during delivery... I'd gotten a WD500 hdd 6 months back which fell from my table while I was installing and now its read speed drops to 0 ever 15 secs or so making it unusable for anything but data storage :(

You guys will prolly laugh at this but when I asked my dealer, he said the peeps are saying the 500GB HDD is a new one. They dont know what is 7200.11 :P

Anyways, quote i got now is a bit higher and he said taking it in bulk may reduce some 50 bucks or so.

Let me first go ahead and check if its the 7200.10 or 7200.11. :P

There is nothing to laugh.Local dealer here in Moga-Punjab also dont know 7200.x or 7200.xx.Even they are unaware of more then 500gb drives:rofl: well they quoted price for 500 seagate 4k:rofl: which is for Sata 500 seagate only what is platter ,cache ,RPM, 7200.xx etc they dont have any idea what i am talking about

Price updated in first post.

750gb and 1TB seems to be more per GB than 500 one so 500gb seems to be the best deal around with 640GB WD showing quite some problems for all.

Please let me know by PM too if you have any questions.

OT But I doubt the 640 is showing any problems. Only those people have problems whose drives get dropped etc :P Which is pretty obvious for a HDD ;)

There are obviously no posts from the lot more users using teh same without problems ;)

Yeah but the availability is a problem too.

You think WD is going to keep the price of 500 higher than the 640 forever (which is higher right now)?

Doesnt make any sense does it.

Not really. Its all marketing. Simply cos they might just want to sell more 640Gb HDDs ;) You dont know how much each costs to them and what sort of margins etc are there.

That is correct. But the diff is noticeable only at some places.

Though in NCQ, this drive outperforms.

Anyways, back to the topic, let me know if anyone wants any.

Its a non profit go so i will help even 1 HDD requests
