IEM/HP Equivalent of AE5

1) My room size is 150in X 130in.

Will A5 suit me? I heard (in HeadFi or somewhere) that my room size is too small for A5 :(

Is that so?

2) They can be driven perfectly out of Realtek HD onboard audio right? (there was little difference between M2 when driven from my onboard audio vs when driven from S:Flo2.)

1)

1. My room size is 12x12 and I am fine. So you will be fine too.

2. AFAIK A5s are like studio monitors and you will get the best experience only if you are sitting exactly 1 feet or so away from each speaker, may be 2-3 feet at most.

3. I wouldn't recommend the A5s any more. bajaao.com is selling Adam A5s for as less as 24k and they are like much better than the Audioengines. If you can extend your budget a little bit, the Adam A7X for 37k will pawn the crap out of any Wharfedale or Polk Audio (only entry level setups) with an entry level receiver.

2)

You will be fine. However, an Asus Xonar DX will take your music to the next level and is definitely recommended, at least as soon as you can afford it.

WHAT.......you have one ....from where did you order ...how much ....PM me if you dont want tell publically!!

There's nothing to hide :P

I pre-ordered it sometime in the middle of August (even before getting DDM) from Bugden Audio. It took so long to reach here that I thought it's lost. When I had almost lost all hope, out of the blue, I got it today. IIRC, at that time, a special discount of $15 was offered. So $145 + $10 shipping.

And he's liking them too. So many bietches here on TE, making you drool :P I will resist any temptation to buy now. :)
:)

Let's say between DBA and DDM, I might have found a perfect Yin and Yang for my tastes. I won't be hurrying to write any first impressions like DDM, because DDM really did excite me so much that I wanted to get it out of my head. For this, I'll go slow, take my time before writing anything on them.

:P
....bugden audio....they have them back in stock ??...yeah i saw that offer ( app. 10 Hrs were remaining then .lol)
..
good to hear ......hmm.. what shoould i say post your impressions when you do.

I guess it's OOS again until Ethan gets his next batch from Fischer :)

I'll say this much: The more I listen, the more I feel it's best suited for my tastes. But, to judge whether it's my Top IEM beating out DDM, PFE and RE0 needs some real, unbiased (as far as I can :P) A/B and B/A-ing.

@esanthosh : the ck10 is bass light. You are right about that. Kinda like the K701 of iems if you may. But it has its own sparkle and comfort level simply cuz they were so darn small compared to the UM3x and the TF10. Like i said they have highs like the RE0, they are easier to drive though. Lets jus say its a Level 2 for Re0 fans.

CK10 Review by Shigzeo
About the UM3x, the instrument seperation part(can't believe how i forgot about that cuz that the first thing you notice and the UM3x coming from a TF10 as my primary), yes they had a very good/wide instrument seperation. I tried it with Color of the moon and couple of other Flacs on my sflo2 from the B&W reference album and the instrument seperation was much more than the TF10's. Why do you think its a bad thing by saying "like they are in a diff room"? Isn't that better imaging?

@brendon : i'm sure its not the Audinst, otherwise i would've been to one to collect it 4m the dealer himself ;) So which was is it, especially after your selling the Audio-gd compass for it so it has to be good.

@haste : what was the source?

@toxic : all i wanna say to you is Thanx :D :D :D
Cowon Iaudio7 :)

Wth ? one more IEM for Esantosh ?

How about putting all the IEMs you have in your sig ?

I bet yours would be the biggest signature on TE ! :P
