IEMs? - One for Mom & One for Girlfriend

The two women in my life are after my new Klipsch S4's.

So, Instead of parting with my prized possession, I've decided to buy them their own IEM's :bleh:

Budget is 1.5K each (max)

Mom listens to Indian Classical, Instrumental and Old Hindi songs.

Girlfriend listens to a lot of Pop, RnB, Hip-Hop.

I have no idea about the Sound Signatures they would like, I hope you guys can recommend the IEM's based on the genres they listen to.

Recommendations please and I would prefer to buy them at a store in Bangalore.
 
I would recommend a RE2 for both, for around 1800.

Alternately, Senn CX 500 from ebay.com for about 1500-1800 bucks, 100% Authentic!

Yeah NE6 is probably about 2.5K and it needs an amp too right?
 
^^ Get the 2 for 4k offer from buygaming stuff. And no, the NE6 doesn't need an amp at all; in fact it seems they don't pair very well with amps like E5. Although you could save a bit of money and just get the pl-30/21. I don't think they will really notice the difference.

Yeah I'm considering that option too and especially because mediahome.in has an outlet in Bangalore.
 
^ Nope amp is not needed for any of them.NE6 would be the closest to S4.So get it :). PL-21 is mediocre ,compared to the S4 etc but pretty good for its price.

^ How do you expect a 800 bucks IEM to keep up with a Rs.3700 one :P. if you just want to know VFM part ,PL-21 is better cause atleast its the best in its budget whereas the S4 isn't .

Just that said in jest, although the latter part does make me feel better :P.

But seriously OP, if you are not gifting it directly to your mom and gf, you can make them both try out the PL-21 first. They might just like it, and so may your wallet.

if you want to buy PL-21, then mediahome has it on ebay for 900 - and if you use khojguru coupon (15% off) then u can get it for 765 only!!
just ordered mine.

(hijacking this thread for a min) @FaH33m - can you please tell how much difference is there in terms of quality - betwwen PL-21 and CX 300-ii ?
might as well buy sennheiser if its better than PL-21 :D

Yup, I think that is the best option, but are there any between the 1000 to 1500 price point?

Hmm so which ones are the best in the sub 4000 price range? :huh:
 
^ Depends on personal taste. For me its Hippo VB / Brainwavz M2 for sub 4K. Just past 4k its RE-0 /RE-1. :)

Thnx for the info but as the thread says I'm looking for 2 IEM's with max budget being 3K for both combined.

Just spent close to 4K on the S4's, will save up some money and maybe buy the Hippo VB or RE0 in a few months.

How does he expect to fool the two ladies in question by spending half of what they listened to ?!?

I figure they will thank him for the gesture BUT WILL STILL WANT TO LISTEN TO HIS ONE :ohyeah:

So what's a guy to do ??

He could buy another two of the same to get them off his back OR

He could buy one more, gift the other he has to his mother and THEN look for an upgrade for himself.

First one seems like a waste to have three of the same, the second choice has a risk that if they hear his new one they will want one as well.

Tough decison this (!)
