Hey Nikhil, plz try n find out the procedure for importing...
One of my frnds told me tat I will have to register da bike at canada before getting it here ??? is it true ??
 
All talk... there was even talk of a yamaha DRAG STAR 900 cc but only abt 80bhp or so for around 4-5 lakhs.....

Nothing was ever heard of again

should find the import/expost duties there...but its a bit complicated as they dont charge a singular flat duty...at least not for cars...but seem to add up different types of taxes etc...

and most things do require an import exposrt license....im not quite sure on gifting but i *think* in order to gift you need to bring the item down yourself...even then something with that value is not exempted from the local duties/taxes...

the easiest way when dealing with these things is to arrange for an importer who specialises in bringing in vehicles to bring it in for you...cost of course is a bit high

i think for cars the duty is about 180 % total

OK PEOPLE... MR. MAX WILL CUMIN HERE SUMWHERE NEAR 16DEC. SPOKE TO A YAMAHA SHOWROOM GUY (IN PUNE), HE SAID HE WILL ARRANGE EVERYTHING FOR A SMALL FEE !! yahooooo !!! THANKS PEOPLE

btw..dint see this thread b4..and man..the V-MAX is like the most insane bike i have ever seen.

ok..my personal experience with two bikes..both hondas, both CBRs. One was a 600F, the other was a blade.

the 600 was quite easy to handly and flickable but the blade..man..that one blows u away even tho its quite old:hap2:. did exactly 196kmph b4 i ran out of road:(

p.s: Both bike belonged to the same guy (a frnd ofcourse), the fireblade in the garage after he (my frnd again) hit a Vehicle in the city.

any guesses as to what vehicle was it? ;)
