Well... They will Fear moe when i serve them with a Notice by lawyer... Thats one thing which i am doing first thing tomorrow morning... A official Notice from lawyer makes it look more serious...

^^ yes, else they ll just keep gng in circles and make you wait endlessly and after a copupla mhnts, they'll try wriggle out of it by paying you a couple of thousand bucks....

A lawyer's notice will make them understand that you are dead serious on this iusse...

The guy wh'd have taken out the proccy would have perhaps not realized the true value of the itemand would have ssumed he'll get away with it....

If you serve a legal notice, they'll be forced to look into it as that will bring their own jobs to the lines, else they'll just keep passing the buck

Switch best luck to u , sue them for sure dont wait yaar.

If u keep waiting they will tell thoda aur time , thoda aur time and that they will find out whos the culprit etc .......

You better lodge a complaint as this is a matter of theft and these guys
have screwed many couriers here on TE everyone knows , so now there is a
opportunity dont let it go , bring it to the notice of the media and whatever
sources that are possible , let them be punished.

Seems like till now all the loopholes are covered... Also thanks for reminding me of the aapkiawwaz guys... yes they sure help :)...

@x86... He makes a good point... The package was opened in Noida most probably as there are hundreds of parcels which travel and if they do it with all of them then they would have been caught by now... The guy knew what was in the package... Cause he himself packed it...
then it thinks its the guy who came to take the courier coz he is the only one who knows wats inside ..... try to scare him maybe he will tell u the truth (if he has done anything ...)

WOah....Man this sux....Switch and kidoman really bad thing to happen...
It would really be of big help if you can get media into it..

post on IBN blogs or NDTV msgboard...if it catches sm1's attention..media would get into it..and it would be a gr8 help...

As for the pic by sunny....Professional couriers cant hold onto their claim for the 100 bux liablity unless and untill they have all that printed on the receipt you have...

I suggest you do check up on the guy who packed the proccy from you as the box would have the price of the proccy written on it....so he may have taken it out....

There is another possibility too.
during some days a very strict checking is done at the airports. that is when nearly all the packages are opened to confirm if the package does not contain any illegal stuff or dangerous sustances.
and if espcially it contains any big metallic substance (for e.g. The h/s .... ) then the package is opened and inspected.
it could be that the guy who was checking this package did not have a clue or time to patiently remove the green foam packing properly and tore it while removing it forcefully.
during this process the cpu might have fallen out, either on his desk / table so he must have just inserted the cpu along with its plastic covering back into the case and it could have fallen out / stolen subsequently down the line ... or that small cpu must have been somehow "left" behind while repacking.

ps: i know this , since i had sent 1 tube of AS5 to a member in Banglore / Chennai recently and i received a call from the mumbai airport late @ night enquiring what that "injection" contained ?? and since "Artic Silver" is written on the tube whether it contained "Silver" Items...??

Another TIP: try to get the invoice done in favour of Kidoman directly from the main dealer.... since this is out of state sale and incase you have to file a suit in the court you will need to have proper proof of purchase etc (for valuation) .....if you do it in ur name then you will be deemed a "reseller" and then sales tax returns etc...blah blah could be used as excuse in the courts to delay the case....
Also the Dealer can inform AMD about the "Serial" number of the cpu . who knows this chip might "resurface" in the future and it can be traced from there ...

Most probably (and hopefully) your courier guy will be able "to get back" the chip soon ....whatever happens if ur courier guy does not give a confirmed answer today then definitely file a FIR or NC @ the police station by today afternoon....

BTW : can anybody tell me how much does it cost to insure a package for valuation of say Rs. 10,000/- ??

cost is usually 1% but u need a valid bill bcoz they need it for octoroi shit!

That Rs 100 does not mean anything in the case of malicious intent or gross negligence.... so don't worry about that.

oh man. could it be that?

some time back i had ordered a 5h from internet. when i finally god the package (courier was DHL) i saw that the outer cover was all torn up and repackaged with the words "OPENED FOR CUSTOMS CHECKING" written all over it. Could it be that? They detected something and wanted to make sure its not a retail sale (they charge taxes for that kinda stuff) and just forgot to put back the proccy......zzzzzzzzzz

err switch there is another thing.. when you send this what was the value that you declared?
If you declared this as 2000 for so then the corriour company might use this as proff of value and say that the item was woth only that much because thats how much you delcared it as.

cool then your covered ;)
Go for it switch do everything you can :)
@ deejay
you might be right here
insurance would cost 400/

Can't he just say that it was not a sale?

I mean if I buy a proccy for my cousin or friend in say Jhumritilaiya, and I send it to him, it doesn;t really qualify as a sale.... :P

Well... Getting the bill also is not at all complicated... The dealer is a good friend of mine... He will coordinate with me on everything... So not troubleing him with bill talk ATM... Will take out the bill which suits me...

hey sorry to hear abt that switch and kido :( india does really suck for customer service. something goes wrong, and everyone tries to save their a$$ instead of finding out what really happened. and no one cares if the guys goes thru hell to get back his stuff. really sad..

p.s : i got my gfx card thru some courier service last year and they actually had open delivery. the invoice had all the items in the package including the gfx card, cd, cables, manual etc. the guy actually came over, opened the package for me to verify all the contents (i double checked with my aunt who sent the parcel ) and then signed the recipt. it cost around 150 bux, but was worth it. so better go for the safest route the next time..

GO GET THEM!!

really sorry to hear this.

do not leave any corner upturned to teach them a lesson.

insist of new replacement rather that financial reimbursement as 146 opty is hard to find they may have to reimburse you a little premium.

best of luck to both of you.

ps: this reminds me of one such incident when gfx card was replaced in transit from goa to chennai (happened on digit forums and it became a big issue too. those who have been there for long will remember this).
