India's progress = One populated country  :hap2:
Total literacy rate = Handful people.
Sports = We barely won the worldcup :hap2:
World Cyber Games State = Barely made it to the semi-finals
Movies/Oscar = Got only nominated. nothing else:rofl:
Currency = The most cheapest labour you can ever get :P

i'de just like to know what did india achieve after getting independence except for democracy??

^^ Isnt democracy enough?

after 200 Years of slavery?

Little knowledge is more dangerous than no knowledge

One Populated Country agreed

But one handfull of people can change the world......

Just hope "OUR" Generation will be the one.....

Total literacy rate: LOW

ONE OF THE BEST IN ASIAN REGION

(LOOK AT THE TECH BOOM)

SPORTS: WE RIGHTFULLY WON THE WORLD CUP

IT WAS THE MOST SPECTACULAR PERFORMANCE BY US INDIANS

WE WERE THE UNDERDOGS WHO CREATED HISTORY!!

WORLD CYBER GAMES: We are already in the semi finals after being exposed to Computers for only 2-3 Decades (Not bad huh)

Movie: 3 Oscar Nomination

Mother India

Salaam Bombay

Lagaan

Currency: Which is gaining grounds in the last 6 months to be on a 9 year High

What ever the case my friend

Its always the underdogs who are remembered the most......

Im very very proud of my nation....

Im glad to be an Indian

totally agreed with you dude its not that i dont know anything about indian history i've seen and read almost all indian history books & novels/biography.

but from where i look at i see beggers, murders, rape, social problems which can be avoided/ racial wars, criminals/gangsters etc......

the list goes on my friend.

agreed with all the indians that we had 200 yrs of slavery but i'de look at it from the point that we could have accepted the English. Some of us had to had it our way thats when the whole fight for freedom started.

look at this my friend people go to U.K/U.S/Canada etc... for studies.

now this is where indian knowledge falls short compared to the other countries.

and as far the handful of people whom you trust get a job abroad and stay there. The entire UK is filled with punjabi people and they themselves treat Indias like dirt.

India underdogs agreed <totally right no one gives importance for what try to say.

i feel that for the sake of social problems we should adopt dictatorship.

atleast this would end or bring down the crime scene in India

^^

LOL!!

Dude

We are going to other coutries cos these people need us....

They are paying us a damm lot of money for OUR brain n talents.......

yaar this is an ever increasing dialogue/argument/debate

The only thing is that we be on our best behaivour....

At all times....

if there is anything really bad then its netagiri - other country do have this problem but its minimum and hidden .. In our country its open and known ..but still it happens.

Before blaming the country ... look at yourself. Will you help a blind to cross road. I personally think I have to do a lot to see my country what i want. I can do at least for my village.

I have seen many NRI ... wah .. the way they represent India, i feel like killing them. We have to work a lot in order to improve this part. we have everything just the presentation is not right.

Wish all of us happy independence day ( do din age hai .. fir bhi)

Every country has its own problems. You only blow up india's problems cause it isnt as rich or powerful as say the US or UK. Its better to die free than to live in slavery. You wouldn't be allowed to express your comments so freely if you didnt have the fundamental freedom of expression.

Looking at the positive side, we are improving all the time! What we need now is a government and a leader who can consolidate this growth for the overall progress of the nation.

Is that all you can think about?

lol dude its just that piracy level has increased so much thats everyone thinks about what to download next :P

and RIO i like to debate on such stupid topics so no one takes it personally...:ohyeah:

i know indian problem is ever increasing and one fine day when the world is full of indians and planet earth will be called INDIA  then i can say i'm proud to be an indian
till then LONG LIVE HITLER:evil::cool2:

I propose stop celebrating The Independence Day from now on, for all it does is present our Netas (with a capital N) an opportunity to spread shite through loudspeakers and the phony mass-media. Besides, it makes us remember that we used to be a slave territory (not a nation) a few decades back.

And, we need a leader with balls. I refuse to accept Manmohan as our PM and some-unknown Patil as our President. Oh, and Queen Sonia as our ...doh, Queen!

Ridiculous thread.

Maybe you should live in Zimbawe or China to find out what you have till now.

Were you joking? What we do in world cyber games doesn't matter. What we do in cricket does not matter. It would be great if we won, but is that important? Oscars. I don't care a damn about them. Have some pride in your own country. Why do we need to go to US to win a award. We have plenty ourselves.

India's progress. Well i can only say that we have progressed enough to start a forum and make this thread and no one is coming knocking on your door to take you to jail.

Long way to go but there is no better country than the one you are born in.

Those who want dictatorship, a brief stint in China/mid east will show how bad that is and how good it is to live in a democratic country.

The other side of the hill is always green.

hahaha.... nice one !! I so agree with you (on this at least)

In some ways Indira Gandhi was the only male Prime Minister we had.... she was the only one who had balls :P

I want dictatorship..... but I should be dictator. I promise I want curtail rights, freedom of speech and expression. I pledge not to restrict the freedom of the media too !! (However crappy Indian media is right now :P )

we are 60 for god's sake :P don't expect too much....things are changing....some for the better some for the worse ... but WTH its a free country! ... no more angrez people on our a$$. This country set an example of attaining freedom which will echo for centuries...instead of ruing the fact that we haven't used our freedom fully, look at the positives, and probably do something yourself instead of sitting in front of the monitor and cribbing

Freedom forever!

^^^Dude, we ARE progressing towards good connectivity. Don't just look at broadband. Look at mobile comm. 10 years ago, who would have tought that mobiles would be so damn acessable to even the least income person.

some years ago, we didn't dare think about 256Kbps let alone 2mbps. Now 2mbps is trickling down the line too. India is not a tiny country where it would be easy to get things done nor does it have a single type of people so that consensus could easily be reached.
Also, I would agree with Safin 200%

Yes people do go there...as they have better infrastructure, more funding for R&D. And ppl are looking at getting jobs there, so its the best way. have you heard of people coming down here for cheap education, especially in medical studies.

As far as knowledge concerned, Indians are far better than most western countries. Almost everyone in high school is well aware of history and geography of not only India but most major places in world. Ask the same questions to average high schooler in US and he wouldnt know even 50% of that stuff. Look at the numbers of those making to college and you'll realize why so many indians are at major positions there.

LIKE i said i like to debate about such stupid things like these.
people c'mon i though that some of you post some funny stuff man
but almost all of you'll took it serious anyways i
hope to see some funny stuff
and @ Safin this was supposed to be a Ridiculous thread:rofl: i really dont know y ppl are taking it personaly
