Sorry, but we should try to do local manufacturing as much as possible because we have to survive. Today's jobs which are outsourced to us can be eaten away by other countries on lower costs.

In the grand scheme of things, this is cyclical. Every couple of years, outsourcing will be done and later, insourcing will be done, and vice versa.
Nobody is against manufacturing in India, in all comments I supported Indian govt. saving US$, local manufacturing, jobs, etc. etc.
However, if those benefits are not passed on to common man as lower prices, but only to very few business-politico nexus's chronic interests, then country's people are only importing pollution and wage slavery. Manufacturing in such fields is highly getting automatized, so job will be only for very few. Costs so high that if you buy same product your manufactured in India from a nearby affluent foreign country it is cheaper ! That does not benefit citizens of the country, but govt. treasuries, business-politico nexus. Bye-products will be pollution and waste.

@Emperor Agree with your idea on farm laws, it may have had good intentions if individual farmer's interests were fully protected and govt. were able to convince them in time based fashion. Unfortunately, there too allegations of nepotism at business-politcal corporate conglomerate came up (registered 1500+ shell companies in north west India area just few weeks / months before introducing the law). If the benefits were democratically distributed at least in minimal manner, these kind of issues could've avoided.

thats just the population lol, why are you equating it with the govt? you wanna stop pollution? Impose population control measures but we all know how it will go, and fyi India is not even the most egregious of carbon emissions polluters.
Mate, don't quote the whole post in your reply. Only quote the part you are replying to. You can do that by selecting those sentences and pressing the reply button which will appear next to the selection.

This is how policies have been implemented lately,

...Step 6: Coming from the worst version, everyone thinks they won and rejoice.
Lately? This is what the excuse of "choosing the lesser evil" always meant.
To get someone to make a shitty decision, offer them an even shittier choice and make them think it was their decision all along to choose the "better" option, and that they are winning:
  • 50k+ for a basic imported laptop, or 15k for JioBook with same performance?
  • A sandwich with 10 flies in it or a sandwich with a single fly?
  • Drinking water polluted with 1% sewage or drinking water with 0.1% sewage?
The "choice" becomes a no brainer, and doesn't make you feel manipulated at all.

The fallacy, of course, is that the lesser of two evils is still...evil.
