Brothers, Bros and Bhai log, it's all pomp and show by Mr. Orange as a hard tactic for negotiations and garnering approval ratings at home. Come Ides of March and it would all be back to "normal". As for illegal migrants and migration, it continued, it continues, and will continue as long as people want to migrate and are willing to pay obscene amounts for it.

Well, the pickup was from Amman. I don't know why ships weren't used as Jordan does have access to sea at Aquaba.
Maybe logistics & inadequate infrastructure to handle that many near the sea port so the airport was the only option.

I am surprised at the level people are going to call these ordinary people criminals... Poor fellows risking their lives ..their entire money ..leaving behind their families just for a better future is also becoming of a criminal now.
If I am correct the foreign remittance has played huge and still plays huge part in our countries economy.
And 90% are non criminals because had they done anything severe they would be serving in Guantanamo bay. Not shipped to India.

These "poor" fellows managed to get 80L to a crore (based on that reddit post) to do dunki. Probably sold their land to some builder. If having 80L is poor, Then what do you call the rest who don't even have that amount? Below poverty line? Guess I'm bpl now. Lol.
What was the dream? Going to the US illegally, with no status to avail any benefits, health care, social security number and probably work at McDonald's, at a gas station or as an Uber, paycheck to paycheck? This is the same mindset as the "mera beta engineer" lot, even though they're unemployed.

Think about it, 80 lakhs? 1 crore? These are life changing amounts of money when you invest in India. But they can't see that. To them, in their mindset, it's a chance to restart their life. It's a price.
It doesn't cost that much to immigrate illegally. A degree on paper, a falsified employment letter, a falsified bank statement, a letter from a US resident, a return ticket — all of that wouldn't even cross Rs 3 lakhs and I have known people who took this route, in recent years (after lockdown).
These people are desperate. Be thankful you've never had to experience such desperation in your life.
Anyway, I still maintain that everyone who wants to go find a new life in the west is an idiot.

Coming in illegally means breaking the entry laws means you are a criminal. The ICE chief made this clear to journalists over a month back.
Where you are confused is the Democrats do not consider illegal immigrants as criminals for their own nefarious interests. Doesn't mean these people haven't broke the law and the law is not being enforced for political reasons.

Before you judge me, I am not a fan or that country. They did all that PR and drama (chaining etc) to send a message. You come here using illegal methods, this is how you will be sent back. There is no moral high ground to take here. People endured far worse conditions when they took donkey routes to states. Think about it this way. If people get confidence that if they enter the country illegally, they are sent back in a comfortable way, they will be more than happy to enter the country and live as long as possible before getting deported.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I think they got off easy. Instead of being jailed, or detained, they are given safe passage back. Regarding the chaining part, it's not prejudice against any particular nationality, just standard operating procedure, for safety concerns. Had this been the case in the Middle East or God forbid North Korea, things may have been a bit more dire.
