Hehehehe.... so we met up today to give a poor Q6600 a run for its money..... (severly fsb limited tho.)

Got this out:

21683 3dMark06 - Q6600 on DICE (w/ 1.65Vcore) - 480 x 9 - 3870X2 on air cooling.

More pics when Haaris wakes up I guess :)

As Gannu said its the highest score for an Indian, and do upload it to hwbot also change your country to India, as of now you have not selected your country in your profile.

^+1..

@kido-excellent work u guys..

Pl post the updated hwbot scores..

Feels proud with d +20k 3dmark score..

Sure, competition is good to keep pushing & going higher/lower but this was not abt records & who set the highest clocks/3DM06 scores or lowest Spi1M run. Its was more abt going Extreme n Learning (mostly 4m our mistakes) and over everything, having FUN !!!

Its abt Satisfaction by taking the hardware to its limit & beyond & knowing we did the best anybody could do with these hardware !!!

Besides, in a competition, all the teams are required to ve the same hardware !!! And we didn't ve a single CPU with unlocked multipliers, didn't we a single RAM that could match the FSB of the CPU (with locked multipliers), even @ 2.6V...the drivers that could support 2 x X2s in XFire were beta which detected both the X2s but didn't use em in any 3DM06 runs & lastly didn't ve any experience be4 this !!!

Whatever we got, was achieved by complete 1st timers and we got a lot of experience with extreme cooling (that the reason for both DICE & LN2) and m sure we'll know better & achieve better, when we get the right hardware.

Getting back to competition, who knows if others could ve done better with these hardware or if we could do better with the hardware they had, unless there is a competition & this was not it !!!

But never the less, this was AWESOME FUN & a complete NEW, TERRIFIC and EXTREME experience. I enjoyed been a part of it & want keep going in the direction.

So to all who want us to break records, give us the hardware and if U cant then lets C others get the same/better results with the given hardware.

Now for the records, I was NOT in this to break anyBUDDYs record but to Enjoy n Learn (ENJOYed LEARNING) and I got my hands wet with both LN2 & DICE...well actually...

You know, I really respected what you guys did until I seen the quoted post... sad, too much contradiction in it. First you say it's not about competition but then you make over-confident statements like "we did the best anybody could do with these hardware" and "we didn't ve a single CPU with unlocked multipliers, didn't we a single RAM that could match the FSB of the CPU" or "who knows if others could ve done better with these hardware or if we could do better with the hardware they had, unless there is a competition & this was not it".

You guys did well but these excuses made it look like you were too focussed on breaking records, and chances are you didn't have fun even though you said "fun" many times. Some time ago goldie had an X6800 (before anyone else), but his results were not spectacular... not a single guy on TE cried about it saying "I could have done better with the same chip" ;)

Have "fun", and remember "having fun" is about pushing your hardware as much as you can!

^^Exactly Rio. I also congratulate Team [E] on their achievement but I am sick and tired of hearing the "unlocked multi thing" and the "FSB limited thing". Maybe next time Intel will be generous enough to send these guys an ES CPU :P

Congrats once again. Nice run there.

@ALL

Even I can claim to break all the records if I also got similar hardware :P

Wallah- nice run people. :D

Congrats for invading the Extreme cooling segment. :ohyeah:

Zero dead hardware and good scores shows the level of mental preparation, dedication and hardwork you guys have put into this. :hap2:

And though all has been great with hopefully no bad experiences and with loads of fun thrown in, i am sure that mature people like you won't go forth and claim that 'It was so easy coz i did it and didn't kill anything'. :)

Statutory Warning :
Extreme cooling is great fun but it is NOT safe. :cool2:
Kids- do not try this at home.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@has33- I always thought of you as a mad scientist in his whacked out lab. :P
Good to see you have decided to take benching even more seriously than you have been. :D
All the best pal :hap2:- Looking forth to 'Sizzling scores' and hopefully zero 'sizzling circuits'.
(you always give me the feeling that you prefer the latter by going where no man has dared to go before. :P)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is spoken in general. :)
p.s. I don't want to comment on the comments that 'we didn't have unlocked chip' or blah blah as then it will seem as if i am taking sides. :(
But i have rarely seen anyone say- 'not me dude- the chip is brilliant' or 'bcoz of the extra multi on this' or 'Thanks to the brilliant max FSB on this'. ... when they have gone forth to claim top spots on leaderboards. :)
Any person really interested in OCing/Benching knows the h/w in question and what is good or bad as far as the results are concerned.
As far as queries or comparisons from n00bs or the ignorant, who in the first place haven't never checked what the world is doing and is possible with the hardware in question, why bother to clarify with what wasn't there.
Ths is a -ve approach imho.
Rather defend by mentioning what is possible and whether you have breached that or how close you are there.
And there are always personal records after all- coz one only improves by bettering oneself. :)

Nah...thats U getting Ur POLITICS in it.

I told harshal not to involve me into it & let me learn, myself who's what.

And U know what I ve learnt...Adi or Karan neva b**ched abt any 1 of U. Ofcourse they are erodov & U are THL but I'm a nobody. I was asked to be a part of this event & I was thrilled. But I told Karan I'll be giving my X2 to Harshal for the Xfire run & he was OK abt it.

I meant when I said it was not a competition & thats why I said "If it was a competition" & "who knows if others could ve done better with these hardware or if we could do better with the hardware they had, unless there is a competition & this was not it"

And how is saying "we didn't ve a single CPU with unlocked multipliers, didn't we a single RAM that could match the FSB of the CPU" contradiction ??? I was simply stating the facts to the person who was hell bent on us breaking the Indian records.

And U tell me, won't U be able to get much better Spi1M score if we could run the achieved 570 FSB @ 11 or 13 multi with the RAM in 1:1 ratio @ 4-4-4-12 ??? But we didn't ve...so we didn't...so why is it pinching U so much as to say I'm crying ???

When I said "we did the best anybody could with the given hardware" I was merely stating the limitations of the hardware (FSB wall, loose RAM timings, etc) & not some other person or team....but U wouldn't understand that if U were looking at it with all the Politics. Thats the reason nobody except the ppl with politic in mind, said that & nobody else.

Now what do I say abt Ur statement "chances are you didn't have fun even though you said "fun" many times" except: come & show me what fun really is... cause I enjoyed my self, all the 3 days & its either U know a way 2 some better fun or U R showing some more *ahem*

If U really thought we did well & really respected what we did, U would ve seen the post in the right way & posted much be4, showing Ur respect...not when U found something bad to comment on !!!

U know, I ve the required respect for U as a senior member...don't get me involved in Ur politics & spoil it. Show some love n compation...I'm just a newbie into the extreme cooling...here to learn & work together.

And say something good for the other fellow Indian OCs (like every 1 else without politics in mind), are saying...not showy comments like "Have fun, and remember "having fun" is about pushing your hardware as much as you can!"

I was really hoping Harshal would ve said something good here as I thought he knew me & hope he's not seeing this in the same political way. I'd be really hurt if he did.
Thats it !!!

has33, no time to read your individual rants/political remarks, but this is not the only forum I'm on... Harshal and I replied to Karan on THL, and I believe it's stupid to say the same thing on multiple forums.

My last post was directed at things "you said", without attacking you or anyone else... if you felt that way, not much I can do. Like I said, the results were good but the constant drone of "if we had better hardware" and "nobody could do better than us" peeved me off. Learn to have fun man... your message really should have been this is the best we could do with the hardware we had, and not "indirectly" constantly implying you could have done better than Harshal or anyone else with the same hardware. Quit the excuses, be happy with your overclocking session if you really had fun and share your experience with everyone if you can.

Again, glhf!
