Eazy will recommend Vantec NextStar and/or Transcend casings :)

YES I ALWAYS WILL.....only Vantecs.... they are the only ones worth putting all my backup data on :D

USB2 data transfer speed around 33mb/s
eSATA external case data transfer speed around 62mb/s

The cheap one to look for is the USB2 Zippy which handles both PATA and SATA HDDs - price around 1200/- Quad Master has reviewed this case in TE.

Eazy i havent written a review just posted the pics.

I too wud recommend a Vantec if not a Zippy.

The Zippy casing has been tested with Pata and Sata 1 HDDs all work gr8 without any issues.

I dont have a Sata 2 yet to test in the zippy.

Its a gr8 casing must say for 1200 its a steal.

Dont waste ur valuable money on the 500Rs crap get quality casings is you value your data.

tes!!
bought Supercomp Casing..
its sturdy, good heat dispassion..
hard disc fixed inside with 4 screws. and well 8gb data transfered in 3mins. that was shockin though.. nice performance though. Price-475 bux, worth a buy, and nice finish too. (aluminium case)

yes ill post benchies soon...
1 GB transfer takes barely a minute (around 50 secs transfer) is that good speed?
which softwares to use for benchies BTW? my HDD case is very compact though. ill post some pics too if i have N72 tonight else i have to swap to Imate ;) so low cam quality :P but i am highly satisfied with the product in terms of price just 475 bux lol. tried transfering at my friends place.. works 10-20% faster there then my pc.. dono why :P

Glad to hear that your satisfied with your casing. I have my 80gb WD 2.5 HDD in a TechCom casing and have not experienced any issues or file corruption etc. Costed me 450 bucks. I would consider the Vantec but at that price, I can get another HDD.

I wanna know if the Vantec casings have any special advantage like say it's very easy to change and connect another HDD (I don't think I can justify buying more than one) as this is quite cumbersome in a Techcom case with the screws 'n all.

Is there a firewire cum USB Vantec casing?(I have two firewire 400 ports sitting idle.) for 3.5 inch HDDs?

The zippy sounds promising but again, donno if it supports firewire. But still, would like to get it rather than some other brand.

i was going to take techmatrix.. but the built quality wasnt good.. and its was very big case compared to my supercomp case.. Techcomp should be good..

A correction. I had mentioned earlier that I had my 2.5 inch HDD in a TechCom casing. Actually, it's an ENTER casing. Sorry if I have misled anyone.

Mine's silver. You're right about the black ones. The paint job is bad. Looks like they've just painted over the silver ones. I don't even like the look.
