PC Peripherals Inputs for new PC Config

Thanks Sorcerer and VIP for your comments. I am new to this, hence the config bloopers...

I will take out the CPU cooler - will this still give me optimum CPU performance during intensive encode applications?

Could one of you suggest best graphic card for this rig - main applications are video encoding, image processing and HD movies.

Also as an alternative to the EX58-UD5 Mobo, are there any cutting edge ones with USB 3 support. Since I dont plan to upgrade for atleast a few years, want to get this config right. I need GigLAN preferably dual ports.
 
as u mention video encoding and image processing then nvidia quadro or ati firepro card will be more useful.These r workstation cards and costs high starting from 10k above.Nvidia cards use cuda technology which can be programmed according to need.Cuda is very effective in 3d image rendering.If u want more power then combine more than one card.

1.Cooler Master Hyper N 520 RR-920-N520-GP CPU Cooler
You really do not need this. If you are not going to OC. The stock cooler will do just fine.

2. Tagan Pipe Rock BZ900 900W Modular Power Supply
Way-way-way to much for your requirement. People use this type of PSU for setting up extreme OC systems, with dual cards. Something like a 450W-500W is more than enough.

3. OCZ Gold Edition 3x2GB DDR3 1600MHz
Again, these are OC addition. You can get better value ram at a lower price.

4. Sapphire HD4670 1GB GDDR5 or GT240 Graphics card
Both of these are fine for your need. Choose any. Though the HD5670 is around the corner. You can see the pricing structure and decide.

Side Note:
I have noticed a trend here and on this forum, regarding PSUs. Either people choose the crappiest of PSUs, else they choose something too much for the system. Its like trying to shoot a fly with a cannon. Same is the trend with PSU recommendations. Off the fly people suggest 750,850 watters...wow...! I have seen so many threads here now, "get a 750W" on a single GPU and CPU. Even with OC it is more than enough including the overhead. Components are getting more and more efficient, specially the power guzzler graphic accelerators, better to be slightly discrete and economical while recommending PSUs. Not saying to sacrifice quality, but quantity (watts) we can be conservative.

now if today i had to build a new system, i would have not taken a i7. honestly your system clogs on two levels a bit. one is on hdd and other is on gpu front. go for i5 its cooler so u save more money on mobo and also CPU cooler. then from money saved invest in a better GPU plus get self a SSD or a raptor drive. ( break 1.5tb HDD to two - one 1tb + 1 smaller raptor or SSD) make the smaller drive as your boot drive.

i would have spent money that ways.

this is very good option to get a ssd 32GB ssd cost around 10k

see all have their favourite shops...

so take views from two three people as per my experience Primeabgb gives best deals and great service also. My all parts except my speakers is bought from him. there is a guy Swapnil there give him my reference n tell him i sent for best rates. my PSU, Mobo, Sound card & GC had faced problems and they sent it to service centre followed up and mailed n called back when things were back with them. So find them reliable with service also.

Rest if you spending this much money make sure to look around. ITwares has Lamington shop also , Cassette World or Mccann opposite Police station are good places.

Once you get quotes from these 3-4 hehe tell prime mccann is giving for this much ... chances are there that he might knock of a bit more :) ....

Anyways best of luck :) and for cases .... also look at Lancool cases for 4.5K pretty impressive ones, Phoenix is selling on the Dealers forum
 
Hi, I have been checking with various dealers about the Gigabyte EX58A-UD5 and UD7 Mobos. No one seems to have a clear idea - there is some mention of release being delayed too.

While I would like the USB3 and SATA 6 options that come with the EX58A, are there any other features I will miss out with on by going with the EX58-UD5 board (earlier rev)

Any suggestions appreciated.
