60 CU of Vega 2 compared to 64 in MI 60 makes me think that they might just reused the bad yield from MI60 after disabling 4 CU.

Navi is supposedly competition for GTX1080 at a lower price point.

Seems likely. This is more of a leftover as I think they're targeting the next gen consoles keeping in mind the Navi rumors which do not go toe to toe with the nVidia heavyweights but focuses more on the midrange.

most of the gamers use mid range graphics card anyways. It would be good competition for 2~3 years for nvidia if they launch a gtx 1080 competitor with similar power draw till Intel joins the fray. consumer gaming graphic card from inter is probably around 4 ~ 5 years away imo

Most popular cards in steam are in the GTX 1060 i.e. 250$ range. But anyways coming back to CPUs seems like the 9900K is going to get a run for its money with almost half the power usage.

Cinebench doesn't mean anything, AMD already works better in most productivity benchmarks compared to Intel but I don't see zen2 beating 8700k in games. They will again provide better pricing and more cores but not 5ghz like intel does with just $60 cooler.
