CPU/Mobo Intel Cuts Prices, Introduces New Models

I predicted these prices many days ago, posted in Phenom II thread

AMD Phenom II X4 (AM2+) Pricing revealed!

* AMD Phenomâ„¢ II X4 920 2.80GHz will be priced at $230 USD (MSRP) [AM2+ CPU]
* AMD Phenomâ„¢ II X4 940 3.00GHz Black Edition will be priced at $280 USD (MSRP) [AM2+ CPU]

X4 2.80GHz 920 is slightly faster than Intel's 2.50GHz Q9300, so it will compete against 266$ Q9400

X4 3.00GHz 940 is faster slightly than Intel's 2.66GHz Q9400, so it will compete against 316$ Q9550

Hopefully we will see Intel price slash soon -

Q9650 3.00GHz 316$
Q9550 2.83GHz 266$
Q9400 2.66GHz 224$

1 look on Phenom benches was enough :cool2:

shouldnt the price of leftover stock of q6600 also come down...atleast to the price at which it was initially sellin....arnd 8.5 -9ks..

the current 10 k is a bit high for this...am gonna be be buildin my rig by the end of this month...hope i get some good prices..

The question thats asked again and again .. when will this be reflected in India.

Will the E7500 be a good VFM choice against the E8400?

In a week or 10 days max.

Minus the Intel® Virtualization Technology, it'd still be worth the salt just like the previous E7300/7400. :)

Well Said - Distributors is Main Culprit with Price Fluctuation & some time Retailers who wanted to clear OLD STOCK which they bought for Higher Rates and didn't disclosed new price till old stock get cleared. :(

I am planning to upgrade , was previously thought either i7 or Q9400 but I think now Q9650 is another option

nice price cut always welcome :hap2:

on 2nd thought which is better for image-editing & video encoding Q9650 or i7 if I choose

i7 certainly but that'll overshoot ur budget a bit. The motherboard's expensive and the DDR3 sticks' well. The cheapest motherboard'd set you back by ~15k via KMD. 3GB DDR3 sticks'd be around ~5k, again via KMD. The i7 920's priced ~15k locally.

Roughly 34~35k for the processor + motherboard + RAM bundle. :)
