Laptops Intel Dual Core T4200 vs T4300

Yea it essentially is penryn with 1 mb cache. It will perform similarly to the old E2180/E2200 processors which were conroe based and similar clock speeds.

That result is false, most likely results from two different laptops with different specifications. The only difference between them is clock speeds, ie 2.1 ghz for the T4300 vs 2 ghz for the T4200. Everything else the same, the T4300 will always perform better but even then by a max of 5%. Do note that they dont have VT

I have the T4300 in a shiny new Acer NTB.

Although the CPU looks like a Core Duo based on its spec, it does run 64bit code (64b Linux boots just fine) and it does have 36bit physical address space (that many address lines in the FSB).

Among its capabilities reported by Linux, I can see nx (not very surprising) and, interestingly, also "ht". HyperThreading? Well if that's possible, either it's not enabled on my notebook and there's no BIOS option to enable that, or it's enabled and Acer doesn't want you to know :-)) (just kidding, not likely)

This is a cpuinfo dump taken in 32b Linux (I have power management mostly turned off at compile time):
