I had bought my bike (FZ16 2008) in Mysore for commuting to office. And after some time, I realized it reaches 'reserve'd fuel almost at the same place on the road. Well, that happened quite a few times(5/6+) which invalidates of chance of it being a mere coincidence.

Later when I moved to Kolkata the same thing happened - the tank reached reserve many times just near the same signal.

Then I realized, the only common thing in both sections of the road (in Mysore and Kolkata) was, a slight downhill (in Kolkata it was a small bridge). So, is it somehow related to reaching reserve fuel in bike?

Yep, it is an effect of the fluid collecting at one side due to gravity, if you have an analog gauge on your bike, just glance at it when you are on a straight, uphill, or downhill, and you will get different readings.

It will obviously be more pronounced when you are close (say within 1L of the actual reserve level).
