Internet Connection in Windows 7

Hi folks,
I have just now finished installing Windows 7. However OS did not detect my internet connection.I think the error was network adaptor not detected.

I am using an airtel broadband connection which is working fine in WIN XP.

Can anyone give me the steps to connect to the net in Windows7.

Any links, guides etc would be helpfull.

Did you install the drivers for you network card?
If you have and it doesn't work, try installing them under xp or vista compatibility mode. (Right click>Troubleshoot Compatibility)

does your modem come with static ip or dynamic ip of static ip u need u manual at u lan router 192.168.1.1

However I am getting two channel sound in my creative card.

Any suggestions to bring 5 channel sound.
p.s I think HD movies look sharper in windows 7 compared to xp.

It might be using a generic sound driver. Try installing drivers for your sound card.

I have installed the sb-live 64 bit drivers as well as creative media source. The tab for speaker changes just does not come even in media source...

Will keep trying...Been busy these days...Having GD-PI's for different colleges.

^^ Have you configured your device as 5.1 in the playback devices configuration ?

:no: That is exactly the problem...The playback device is only showing 2.1 and 5.1 is simply not present..
p.s Tried playing a few games...
UT 2004(demo) ran without any probs...

So did NFS UG.
However Crysis,UT3 and NFS Pro Street failed...
They were all lookingfor DX10 and Win7 has DX11
