Does the ME support a a 3g dongle ?

^ It supports a USB EVDO dongle as per its tech specs . I do not have much idea about it . I guess EVDO is cheaper than 3G & provides max speeds upto 2.4 MBit/sec .

I'd be interested if you could find out if theres anyway to browse internet other than the wifi way. Since the decivce is open please try and check for the same ?

It think it does not have a SIM slot so cant think of a way of using internet other than the EVDO USB dongle I mentioned before .

It has a USB port which has to be used to connect the EVDO dongle & you can use the internet on the move

EVDO dongles are available starting at only Rs.1299 from Reliance & 1499 from Tata Photons . Other options include MTS , BSNL etc.Tata offers speeds upto 3.1 Mbps .

The plans are cheaper than 3G also in most cases

It supports USB 3g Modems-Have tried Micromax, E1732, E1550 on it and they all works perfect.. Also you can check a list of supported modems on HCL website..
