Not every user will root his phone and install custom roms and other stuff.

IOS out of the box is the best OS in the market right now . When Android comes and challenges that then we can talk .

When I buy my new mobile which comes with Android it just fails to impress me , on the other hand my IOS device works better .

PS: I have a Driod and IOS device.

i dont have to wait for gazillion years to wait for a jailbreak to come out or maybe an unlocker app with IOS, where an android phone can be rooted within minutes,

I dont lock everything and suffocate the user to self benefits with IOS(lack of bluetooth filesharing wow , even nokia 6600 had it wow) ,where as android is opensource and you get both performance and stability

adding to red dragon, i never had issues with alarm, maybe an issue or bug with the rom you are using !! i use alarm clock extreme

A debate in good spirit is always appreciated.

I am no fanboy but the Apple products are good but there are priced on the higher side which I will agree. The company is good and makes great products .

About the Media coverage it gets and its ethical practice , there is not much to say.

I dont think anyone would argue that an apple product is not good , and about the pricing , its totally dependent on an Individual , for you if you feel its worth it then it surely is , I mean for someone a product may offer things which he feels is worth the price , things he makes use of , and for someone it might be crap , not VFM etc .

I never called you a fanboy either .

Ya ya, Nokia 6600 didn't used to lag on contacts / messages like Androids

My friend has GS2 and is on stock, alarm works flawlessly

I have used an S2 for 5 months and have been using the iPhone for like a week now.

The iPhone hasn't shown any lag whatsoever in my week of usage and I think that is no easy feat to achieve, so kudos to Apple for creating one of the best user experience available right now.

The camera and sound quality are quite better than that was in S2 and I find myself taking more pictures and listening to songs more often. Infact due to the terrible sound quality of S2 I had stopped listening to songs via my RE1 altogether and they were sitting in the corner gathering dust.

However, there sure is a long list of problems that I face since I was accustomed to the world of Android.

Firstly, I used to use my S2 as a media consumption device and use to watch all the TV episodes that I download on the S2 itself. But to do the same on an iPhone is a momentous task on itself.

I loled when VLC told me that the iPhone is too slow to play the 720p file which I took 1 and a half hour to convert. So much for putting the retina display to use.

Also people who are suggesting that it is a smartphone and one should buy normal phones if they want features like Bluetooth or FM radio should listen and realise how foolish their arguments sound.

Life has become better after the jailbreak, but still I guess there is a lot left to be desired.

The day Android starts giving the fluidic and lag free experience, I won't see any reason to buy an iPhone. But that in itself is a distant dream because of the variety of devices that support Android.

Using FM radio needs a working data connection. What more can be dumb about this phone.People who post their free advise to buy a budget phone instead of a smart phone. Feel pity at your thinking. Do you use a traditional alarm clock to wake up ? I am sure you would be using it,smart phon e are not supposed to be used as a alarm, isn't it.FM, bluetooth file transfer are as basic feature as an alarm clock is.

Why would i JB my phone to use the BT file transfer and other basic features. Haven't you paid for the device ? To use what i have paid for, i need to get it JBed. Its real fun. You boast of owning it
<

And few people claim it to be out of box ready phone. Actually its never ready out of the box unless someone gives you the link on how to JB it.

OOh yes it has got a resale value as most sheep have just heard about the hype of iPhone.

Can someone take the pain to explain me the reason for the premium that iPhone charges when it doesn't come with anything but calling and messaging abilities out of the box? It doesn't even have free apps, as one needs to end up paying for them. I am not asking about people who jailbreak, but the average Joe who pays for his apps. If he paid the premium for a 'feature-rich' phone, why does he need to pay again for the apps? If he has to pay for the apps, what did he pay for in the first place when he bought the phone?

Premium price is because of this.-->> "If you don't have an iphone you don't have an iphone"

Thats how they have sold the phone.

Agree with you totally !!

Btw use this app called AvPlayer, it plays everything so need to convert anything. Let me know once u try.

People comparing their iPhone with Mercedes. Pricing a phone higher doesn't gives it the stature of Mercedes,, grow up.

What is this 'lag' with the S2 that you guys are referring to? Is it when you watch a video? Never noticed it in regular use of the phone.

LOL. I did just that after writing this post and it played the files with ease. The iPhone screen was a welcome change after the over saturated colors of the SuperAmoled. The only real gripe is the small screen size.

So I am thinking is replacing the iPhone with an Android and then buying the iPad as my main media consumption cum browsing device.

Till I hadn't used an iPhone even I didn't notice any lag on the S2.

It is just the way the UI of the iPhone is. It is very fluid with super fast transitions. The apps open in a snap and there are hardly any FCs even when you are using cracked apps.

Let me give you an example of the lag I am talking about. When you swipe to another screen on an Android, the screen will never follow your finger. It will always be a little behind. But on an iPhone the screen follows your action to the closest mm.

It sure is not a biggie, but if you get accustomed to such an experience, you will surely find it difficult to go back to Android.

Same goes for typing with the keyboard. I make far fewer mistakes when typing on the iPhone even though the size of the keys on the S2 was bigger, because when I used to type very quickly on the S2, it always used to miss out on some characters. Nothing of that sort with the iPhone.

All this is because the touch of the iPhone is still unparalleled.

One major problem that I am facing with the iPhone is the lack of a menu key and a back key.

Also the way iOs is, you don't get any options when you long press on a file, like you do on Android and I think that is one feature that should be implemented.

Though I really want some of the features of Android like long press, more menu options and a dedicated capacitive back key, I know it is not going to happen in the near future.

Why, because Apple has always marketed itself as being different from others and are always adamant about making changes let alone include something that has already been done by Android.

Their egoistic approach to marketing has made them turn the iPhone from the best smartphone to a mediocre phone because they won't add the good features that have been implemented by others. This has led them to loose a share in the world of tech savvy or geeky people, who actually put their phone to proper use and not just buy it for flaunt value.
