Laptops Is this the right time to buy the Air ?

well... after waiting for so long... and after this economic recession, i guess i won't be able to go for the air :cry:
so.. can u guys please suggest a good laptop which looks good and performs well.. budget would be somewhere near 80k... thnx :)

Well, why not a MacBook if not MacBook Air?;)

AFAIK, its gonna cost you around 70k, PM Anish, he might help you with Discounts.
 
^ Exactly! The Macbook now has the same aluminium finish as the Air, LED backlit display and is a bit thicker than the Air but also gives you the DVD-RW Superdrive :)

Kauzy, the Macbooks are great, but suited more to OS use, rather than Windows. For Windows, and style, a Vaio would do the trick. Sony is the only brand with style to match Apple IMO.

Actually, i wanted to quit gaming...:P thats why i wanted to go in for a mac... Dad already uses the Vaio.. Damn these $ rates :@
 
Actually I'd hve got the air if it was at the same price point as the new MB

The fantafabulous screen being a bigger draw than the performance drop because of the ULV proccy and 4200 rpm drive

But since the MB is cheaper too, the decision become a no-brainer
 
A big no for the MB Air if you intend to use it except for word-processing/internet/music/show-off.

+1 for the awesome screen. :)

I'd booked a macbook yesterday.. paid 10k as the booking advance.. the person informed me that piece was in warehouse but it was closed at that time (around 1730 hrs).. i said fine, i'll collect it tomoro.. today, when i called him up again.. he said he'll tell me the status in 10 mins.. he didn't call.. finally.. i went to his office.. after reaching there, i asked him bout the MB i'd booked.. he said he forgot to call and will do it immediately.. he conversed with someone in the warehouse, only to tell me that the piece i'd booked has been already sold to someone else yesterday night.. and i'll get mine in 10 days.. it was the authorised selling centre of apple in pune.. (the only one i guess).. after arguing, he told me to take the advance and leave... i was like WTF!! is this the way how apple treats customers??

i'd been an apple fanboi.. bought the ipods, the iphones.. surely they've lost a customer this time.. i'm pretty disappointed as that was my b'day gift (7th nov) which surely i won't get now.. i just consoled myself by saying "God might have something better in store for u".. bye bye apple......
 
^ Dude, just get in touch with the guy I told you about. Pay him the amount and he'll send it across by next day air shipping.
 
These jokers are third grade resellers

unfortunately, the number of proper apple showrooms in the country is still very small ( I believe delhi/Hyd/Bangalore)

i was so excited coz i hoped that i'd be playing with my mac today... i cudn't even sleep yesterday.. and i get this.... :cry:
