If you are using avi video clips, VirtualDubMod would be the best option for you. freeware too.

How to:

0- In Video menu - Direct Stream copy

1- In Audio menu - Direct Stream copy

2- In Options menu - Sync to audio

3- Open the first video file.

4- Browse with seekbar to end of file.

5- File > Append avi segment.

6- If you have more than one segment repeat steps 4-5

7- after appending all the video clips, File > Save as avi.

Try out Boilsoft Video Joiner which is not free or Easy Video Joiner which is free.

This method works but the resultant file size is equal to the the 2 files merged. Is there any way to join and compress them using the Virtual Dub only without any complex AviSynth script generation? :ashamed:

The thing is that, MediaCoder, the software that I earlier mentioned, is able to to do everything, Ripping,Joining,Conversion,Direct FLV download and on-the-fly conversion, both of Audio and Video, the only problem with it is that parameters for video compression like bit rate to be used, formats to be used, containers for multiplexing, it all has to be given by user and most of the time, for me its a case of hit and trial. many times I have re-encoded a file numerous times to get the perfect build. Is there any site which provides info as to compatibility of various formats and containers, profile to be used for a level of rips like for 700MB DVD Rip and so on? :ashamed:
