where can i get k&n filter installed in pune?
also i need to get the carb. reconfigured otherwise my bike will run lean.
besides can anyone tell me how the bike sounds after k&nfilter
also need to add synthetic oil like motul3000.
also plz suggest good service centre place

lol did your query originate at xbhp?

Anyways, its a Pulsar 150 classic?

Service center: Castrol bike Zone in pune?

actually team-bhp..

not many active ppl in x-bhp

it is a pulsar dts-i model with alloy wheels and without digital dial.

around 3yrs old.

there is a castrol bike zone near our area.

where do u live?

u can install the filter urself.. as i did.. else ask any of the mechanic to do it for u..

i live in pune.
anyways got contact of a person who sells k&n filter and he told he knows a mechanic who can reconfigure the carburettor.
cost is Rs.1600

pros:
Superb intake roar.
better mid range.

cons:
almost kills the top end
if u Google enough K&N filters don't have good filter quotient; ie they don't filter the air as efficiently as the stock one or as they are supposed to filter.
reduced Fe coz u need to increase the Petrol intake to match the increased air intake.

Find a skilled mech for rejetting the carb. any neighborhood mech can't do it. if u can't find one ride to Mumbai and get it done at Reddy's in Goregaon. Many guys from Pune have got it done from him.

i usually ride my bike in the 6000-8000rpm range.

also,i have found a mechanic who can change the carb. setting to increase fuel intake so as to maintain proper air fuel ratio.

There is nothing special done with the carborator to increase the fuel intake
He will just make the hole through which the petrol follow,Bigger

And i have installed the K&N Filter in my Unicorn, you get the same filter for all 150Cc series bikes
But for Bajaj Pulsar 150Cc you will need to replace your current air filter with the K&N filter, its a pain

In unicorn,it fits really easily
I have a contact from which i bought the filter, lemme know
I'll tell you the current price and location :)

Im too looking for a KnN filter for my FZ.

There is a bike modding shop near my area. Its even listed in KnN international site, so i think they knew well what they are doin and wont be n00bs.

They say the 1.6k one wont do ny good in power...but can be tweaked to get slightly better FE.

But he says there is one for some 2.2~2.4k. Its better quality [some Pro i think]. Its 100% guarenteed to give much better power.

my concerns are:

*will it kill my engine more quickly?

*how much FE will i loose?

*will it increase the initials or tops? or will i loose initials?

the guy told me that rc 1060 will be enough for pulsar 150 which costs Rs.1600.

the Rs.2250 is r1100 is useful for 180 or 200 pulsar.

definately not for pulsar 150.

thats what he said.

regarding fe,i guess the change will be for better, but not that appreciable.

is it really worth putting a K&N flter? I have been toying with the idea for a long time now but cannot really come to a conclusion.

And I have the same bike model as paddydevil.

Hey... Even I wanted to put a K&N on my Unicorn... there's an authorized centre near my place... but only thing stopping me is the noise that K&N produces... I've heard pulsar and rtr's with K&N and i don't like the sound at all.

Does it sound similar on the unicorn?? and wat about the power and FE? did u notice any changes??

^^ Neville check my post. For different sound output, try to get Pipercross.

I've heard K&N in a Unicorn gives increase more increase in FE than top speed or pick-up... Is that true??

That's because K&N makes the mixture very lean. It increases the air volume , but the petrol volume remains same. Not good for engine life.
Ideally, one should upjet the carb along with K&N.

Trust me my friend. Its never's good to do that. Its better to buy the jet. HH Ambition carb jet is the right for it (size 18). You never know the proper flow for it. I have unicorn which is upjetted with K&n Air fitler. I took it to Castrol bike zone to tune it properly as they have the utlities and well versed with the K&N Filters. It may differs in few cities that they may not know. If you think your fitting K&N filter to gain F.E, then your just running lean...The K&N is mainly meant for the bike to breathe better and gives a bit of accerlation.. If you guys need any help in upjetting, jet size in other words, lemme know.

u wont believe me if i had not met with a accident i would have got a better bike btw i have a k&n and endurance exhaust fitted n my Ct100. it roars like hell awesome pickup after 50km accleerations is rocking and my mileage increased to from 52 to 68 i was like shcked...i am loving it i am using this unitl dad agrees for a new bike..
