Well i did the Advised .

I took out the gpu ran prime 95 for 10 minutes and the result was same .

Now i thought that the power supply is the culprit so i took that out and changed it with gigabyte 460w (that i know is perfectly fine)

This also gave higher temps with 10 minutes of prime95 .

now i am thinking its a mother board issue . Help please

I can see one major difference comparing these above screen shots with the previous ones. can you tell me which is the mobo temp out of temp 1, 2, 3?

And can you also explain why you came to the conclusion that mobo is faulty?

^ whats the difference you can see . i think temp2 is the mobo temp .

i came to this conclusion because if mobo is overheating there are mainly 3 reasons either psu faulty or gpu faulty or mobo faulty .

Since ive removed gpu and tried 2 psus with the same result . the mobo is the only culprit . i may be wrong though

can to apply the thermal paste on your cpu and motherboard cause u need to repply thermal paste before running your system at fix temp issue

check with cpuz if that temp is really of mobo. it could be temp of one of the cores of your cpu.

The difference i see is: temp 1 has gone down from 38 to 32 and 35 (after running prime i guess). The temp2 which you say is of mobo is constant at around the 72-78 mark, so it might be the internal temp of one of the individual cpu core. The 68 deg reading is of whole cpu. you might need to change the thermal paste on cpu to bring temps down. Your mobo or gfx card or power supply might not be the culprit here.

well when i use core temp to monitor the temps of my cpu cores they are both near 65C . While temp2 is 76C . So temp2 has nothing to do with core IMO . Should i get the mobo r m a ed?

I hate RMA cause they dont give you new one they just fix your mono and return it (who knows what they do to the mobo while r-m-a ing

It is highly probable that your motherboard temp sensors are acting up and have gone kaput. About the game freeze, you could check your hard disk for bad sectors by running HD Tune Pro, unchecking "Quick Scan". We can eliminate the hdd from the problem list if it is successful. Also, I hope your hdd is not too full and you have quite a bit of space. Basic things, but if your hdd is the problem there might be a lot of disk activity when you are facing the game freeze. Just my guess...

^hdd is fine . its fuly healthy without quick check too . also it i squite empty . id say about 100-150gb free out of 500gb .

Even i feel that the mobo is fine but the lagging game and the fps drop is making me wonder

Do you still have your 5770 to test with?

Temp 2 / 3 might be the chipset / VRMs. They are high but can manage these temps.

On the other hand, your X2 550 BE has a max temp of 70C. Your screenies show them doing 68C. Your CPU could be throttling.

Edit:

Get this utility : www.cpuid.com/softwares/tmonitor.html

Let it run, play your games, when you notice the lag, exit and check if your clock speeds were throttling.

I dont know what was wrong but I borrowed an Arctic cooling mx-2 from a friend today . Cleaned the heatsink and fan and applied the paste . Now my idle temps are 25c for core and temp2 is idleing at 32c . These were 48c for core and 50c for temp2 before . So I think everything is fine now . Except 1 issue . Now when I run prime 95 my CPU stops responding at all . It is heck slow . It takes 5 min to stop prime 95 . this was not the case before . What could be wrong ?

YAY . Games not stuttering and temps are good i think . prime95 is also lagg free now . This was because i was using prime95 on 2gb ram only but when i put the other 2gb also it solved all my problems

. Here is a screenshot of temps after 15-20 minutes of prime95 .

I hope they are ok ?

now my games stutters due internet connection but i know thats its a topic for different zone ( internet ) altogether .

Yeah temps look fine.

I correct myself - temp3 looks like a motherboard sensor for CPU temps.

Prime95 was probably taking a long time to close because you were running the default Blend test which is a bit heavy on memory - and might have been swamping your page file.
