Lagging issue with GTA EFLC

yea, get up from that bed.. and start cleaning your computer.

The problem was same with me.. even in ultra low settings, I almost got same FPS i was getting when everything set to high.
 
^^ thats how GTA 4 Engine was built for PC, i guess. If the game is not good enough to play, then who will give a damn about it. TBF, i can't stop playing even the game lags like hell... :D
 
Yup. Started with TLAC. Coz, it was released first and completed TBoGT later. Both were awesome.

Also, i heard that TLAC is kind of inferior to TBoGT. So thought to complete inferior first and superior later (Luis Lopez is one helluva protagonist)
 
^^ Yes, i started with TLAC, but upon reading reviews and all hypes i heard about Luis and Yusuf, i switched to TBoGT and it's really worth playing man. TLAC lacks a lot when compared to TBoGT, but storywise TLAC is OK.

And i personally like Luis over Johnny. Night clubs, partys. choppers, thats what called as LIFE....
 
Hmm. I don;t know if there are any mods available for EFLC, but there might be some performance improvement community mods. Worth a google.
 
I played it on E8200 and I was able to play it on acceptable setting at 1400*900 with avg 30 fps. It did lag at times (mostly at bohan) where it went to 22 FPS, but It was playable otherwise.

One thing which you can try is to switch your shadow off.
 
i play it on a laptop & i'm getting around 25fps, steady :P

gfx=m8600gs

you have to defragment gta4 drive/folder, use defraggler for it.

turn off your AV, close/disable unnecessary apps/services.
open the ati control panel, & turn off AA, V-sync off under gta4/eflc profiles.

then in the game, turn off shadows, lower reflection (or turn it off), texture quality @ medium.

use cheat codes or trainer to change weather to sunny/windy when its raining/foggy, when in a mission.
if these dont help, theres' a texture mod out there, which gives more fps, but its size is massive.

I googled a lot, d/l a mod, apolied it, BANG!!!! No improvement.... :hap5:

I almost turn every settings to lowest possible, shadows off, texture @ low, reflection @ low.

see the second link, the d/l file there is a rar ~2KB, it contains a html file, which contains all the links :P

Tried VisualIM patch. Now, it lagging more than before. :(

BTW Finished TBoGT, going to start TLAD. The story is awesome and i am going to spend some time by doing side missions and first time, i am thinking of achieving 100% game progress. :D

Tried patch 1.1 from R*, still of no use.
