I usually connect my lappy through the main pc via lan and it has worked before.... but now some thing is wrong
Main PC (XP sp2) (I have 2 ethernet ports on my mobo):
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 2:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :
Laptop (XP sp3) :
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.2
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1
1. I ran network wizard on both the sides.
2. I can ping from both the sides with <1ms but cannot share files or internet. None of the browser's work .
3. I have enabled internet connection sharing from main pc and file sharing from both the sides.
4. Windows firewall enabled both the sides.
5. Nod32 v3 installed on both the pc.
6. This thing was working some time back but i guess someone messed up the settings (Probably no virus from both ends) with applicable to point no. 3,4,5.
7. I think i'm going wrong with the numbers... please check above and correct me.
8. I also tried auto configure ip option but on lappy no luck.
I'm frustrated, walking from room to room and changing the settings... restarting pc's wholetime :S
