Hi guys, i have a HP pavilion dv6-1215ee laptop bought july 2009 , i have taken a total care extra 3 year warranty. by last April or so , my battery got fried up and it was not giving me back up, so i went to HP care and they replaced ma battery , now again the same problem and when i check battery in HP software it was showing " replace ur battery " now when i called the hp customer care , they are telling me the battery and power adaptor is not included in the total care warranty :@:@:@ , is to so?

why is this often happening? is it coz of the excess heat produced? should i consider buying a notebook cooler? if so should i go for branded like belkin or any other normal one will do...

How are you using your laptop? If you are constantly connected to the power outlet, the battery gets damaged. It needs proper charge/discharge cycles. This link should give you a fair idea about maintaining your batter Laptop battery tips at laptop-battery.org
not constantly connected to a/c power, even if I am using it for long hours, I ll run on batteries and if it drains out only I charge again...

Batteries are generally not covered by the extended warranties.

U'll have to pay for the replacement battery unless you can prove that there is some other fault with your lappy that is ruining the battery.

Battery and chargers are not included in the extended warranties as laptop batteries are bound to fail in 2-3yrs of usage.

People use coolers because it helps to reduce heat inside your laptop....Coolers work like AC's....It helps system to run at low temperature....
