Hi folks i am planning to laser etch some artistic impression on my new Toshiba laptop ,wanna know where in India i can get it done ,ready to spend some good amount of amount also
I got some infor abt it but the place is in Mumbai ,not sure whther they do on Laptops ,so can some one from Mumbai call them up and ask for info plsssss

im guessing u may require to have a metallic body for that..

i've seen one being done at the IMTEX expo b'lore

their strip of metal had some coating that came off when the light passed on it.

thanks a lot for the replies ,but laser etching on laptops can be done , i have links to many US ,websites but not in India :(

lil out of topic , i want to know where can i get 100% pure leather customized like the link given below ,i did have a chat with the guy who did this on his laptop but hes from Vietnam and wants me to pay 100$ for 2 laptops excluding shipping ,bu the constraint is tat he wants me to send some sizes of laptop in corel draw ,where i dont know what is corel draw ,if some one could help me regarding this tat would be great and can laser etching be done on the leather as seen below

he wants to etch not cut..

btw on plastics, its doubtful to get here.. it requires a diff kind of machine..

metal is definitely done.. u may require some kinda sheet metal, in the same form of your current case
 
I have done laser etching on Acrylic before like this case here.

Same way Laser etching is possible on metal too. However, laser etching is a lot more complicated that etching on Acrylic. For eg. to etch on Acrylic you only need a corel draw file whereas for metal you need an auto cad file. Also, metal etching is much more expensive especially if you are doing only 1 piece compared to a bulk order because of the initial setup cost.

Either way, to answer your question --> yes, laser etching on metal is possible and it is done in India. Drawback being its too expensive for a single one piece job.

the red leather on laptop is done by some professional modders in Vietnam..

hi KMD good to see ur post and guitar looks freakin awesome btb who was the lucky guy to buy it,so is it possible to do etching on my laptop, i will ship the laptop to and will pay u all the charges ,and folks any info abt the leather thing can it be done ,if leather thing can be done i will go for it and scrap the laser etching on laptop,sorry for goin lil out of topic for the leather thing
