Lava Lamps..... anyone??

I absolutely need to find a Lava Lamp for myself..... :ashamed:

I know that KMD had conducted a [GO] for Lava Lamps sumtime back but I was not on TE then....... :(

Lava Lamps are something like this:





After extensive searching, I have found two suppliers: 1 from Mumbai & 1 from Gurgaon.
I have already mailed them & asked them for quotations. I expect them to reply this week.

I was thinking if anyone else would be interested in getting these Lava Lamps. If we find enough people interested, we may organize a [GO].

That way, we would be able to purchase the Lava Lamps in bulk & them at lower prices...... This would be done only for community benefit & not for Profit making......

Also, people who already have the Lava Lamps (From previous [GO] or otherwise also), please post your experiences & tips that may benefit all.

Since I have never done this before, any comments/criticism/suggestions are highly welcome as same would be helpful in taking this thing forward.

Any member from Gurgaon who might be able to help.......?? Please respond here...... :)

Alright guys......

Apart from the Mumbai supplier already mentioned, our dear TE member frankmehta has told me that the Lava Lamps are also available at Musafirkhana, Crawford Market.

Will check out at Musafirkhana (tomorrow or day after) & revert back.

Sure..... Will check for Globes as well.....

But I have seen a Plasma Globe & the one I have seen was too delicate to be fit for shipping......

A Local novelties shop quoted Rs.900/-......... Too Expensive..... NOT ACCEPTABLE...... :(

Can sumone from Mumbai guide me about this Musafirkhana place?? Even I stay @ Mumbai but I have never been to this place before.......

Dude..... Come on..... I know where it is..... I was born & brought up in Mumbai.....!!!

I meant that if sumone could provide any info on any specific dealer/seller to look out for.... Something like a known/trusted person.....
That would be useful guidance.....

There are hundreds of retailers there & if one can find a trusted one..... that would be great......
 
In musafir khanna,there are only two shops tht used to vend lava lamps at 300 and 600 rupess respectively,but the new age ones (Lava Lite Electroplasma Lamp, Black) are not available on the streets of mumbai.Anyone care to give more info on the same?
