LG P500 Discussion Thread

Ok, flashed Franco's v18.1 :)

Now, I'm facing two problem(not after flashing, but from many days), whenever I reboot my phone, all the settings and preferences gets deleted. Like under A/c Sync, only google A/c stays there, whereas I added all Skype, Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo etc.

Live wallpaper gets changed to default(don't suggest me to move it to phone memory, as I've already did that). And much like these... :(

What's the issue??

And one more thing, can anyone explain me CPU Governers?? What are they?? I set smartass and rebooted and it again got changed to default Interactive.
 
I suggest you relfash the kernel. Do a cache and dalvic cache wipe, then flash kernel. I don't have any of the issues you're facing. I'm currently on 729/480 smoothass. And regarding the governors, check this out

Chuck setCPU and start using nofrills. I find it a LOT better and simple. If you still want to use setcpu, Turn on the "set on boot" option. Mind you, setcpu always runs in the bg --> leads to batt drain no matter how small it is. NoFrills doesn't.
 
Which is the best and smoothest Rom for O1 ?

And are there any guides for rooting ?

I'm using tata docomo and am getting a speed of above 12 kBps in tubemate. but in opera or any other browser,i'm not getting that much speed...y ??

what is the difference between flashing a kernel and a rom?

i would like to have franco kernel on mik's rom as suggested by all,

i know of mik's thread at xda, so in order to get the franco kernel do i just flash the file from mik's thread via rom manager?

can you guys please help me?
 
A rom is a complete package. Kernel is a part of the rom. Its an interface between the hardware and the software. Basically contains drivers n memory/power management.

As far as I know, mik's rom already comes with franco kernel. But the .35 has bugs all over the place. Be wary of them.
 
anybody have connected to internet using P500? I just tried now..the screen went blank and a white screen appeared with some lines!!!!! and it remained like that.... I restarted phone...anyone have this experience?

Restart and have a go at it again. Report back if you are facing the same issue again.
 
can anyone please please link me to one proper gingerbread rom (may be modded or not) but is stable and with right kernel.

extremely sorry but i am relatively new to android.

just tell me one proper package, wherein i can get the rom and the kernel all toghether followed by simple instructions on how to install them.

Guide to Install Android 2.3 Gingerbread (CM7) on LG Optimus One P500

just change the .ZIP file to any of the mods that you`d want to use

how to update the kernels ? should the whole rom be reinstalled or just the kernel should be installed in recovery mode ?

spend most of the day connected. never faced such an issue. was it just on connecting or after opening the browser?
 
What happened to the Dust issue ? Is it solved after May 2011 manufactured date?

All LG OP1 owners with May 2011 manufactured date should reply.

guys i need help i was flashing a custom gb rom and then got stuck with lg logo cant log in to recovery or no fastboot mode using kdz doesnt detect and using sdk too it says waitin for device can any one help connect my pc thru teamviewer and fix plsss its been 3 days ;(

was flashing my phone with CyanogenMod7-RC1-rjtchn this rom but rom manager fcked it all its a very good gb rom

Dude, did U personally tried it?

Even I was looking for a step by step recipe for custom ROM job as I am total n00b in this work...

Really convinced by the article to do this job but the comments down there scared me a bit..

BTW, will it void warranty?

However, small problem has arrived

In step 2, after selecting “Backup Current ROM” and clicking Ok

the phone restarted and now written –

“Fast Boot started

udc_start() ”

however, no progress is taking place since a long time

What to do now :(

thanks, I have restarted and browsed net in pc for some more time...no problem at that time...is this a known issue?
 
Please solve my these two problems:-

1> I downloaded win phn 7 launcher & while using it by mistake I selected LG home as default action, now please let me know how I can rectify that?

2> I am not able to send songs to other phones via bluetooth, is there any solution to that?
