List Of Filehosts Affected Due To Megaupload Takedown

Team Anonymous had recently posted a video on youtube stating that they would cause an internet blackout but then pulled back at the last minute stating that it would cause an economic crisis if they did so. But they did take down the FBI, Warner bros, dept of justice and several other websites in retaliation to the US govt's action to take down Megaupload.

I do not believe that it is right, but the US govt needs to be taught a lesson to not mess with us. I do believe that the website owner should not be held responsible if users misuse it. Hell half the internet is full of user generated content. Ban the users, not the website.

If it were upto me I would block all internet traffic from the outside world to go into the United States. Period!!!

Where do you think they will be hosting their datacenters now? Definitely not in the US anymore. And by they, I mean the new upcoming Megauploads and Filesonic/fileshares. And how does it matter if what I download is the property of USA or not. Question is whether it will be available outside the US. The answer is yes!!

i understand what you say......

but i think you should not judge the govt....if it shutdown filehosts and you are unable to download the pirated

contents..

also you are right to a term it is wrong to take a control of a site without letting the party to hear it....case with megaupload

but doesn't banning traffic to usa will also ban the contents to go outside ??

(sure there will be ways to bypass that and hence why the reason to ban??)
 
I just said that in anger. of course there are ways to bypass these kind of things.

I just don't think its right for the government to intervene in to the only free medium left, the internet.

Bringing down megaupload is just the tip of the iceberg. actions like this give rise to people like kapil sibal who if left to their free will want to ban Facebook twitter YouTube Google Bcoz someone said something about some political party. if you guys think I'm blowing it outta proportion, my apologies.

nah , your totally right dude ..

banning of facebook,google ,etc just said in india because some political party got abused by some facebook statement is

totally fault of the indians............i mean go to some US funny sites , you will find they abusing the president publicly ......no one there cares abt that .......

^ they were good because of their affiliate program . so i think they have dropped affiliate program so getting users encouraged to upload will be a difficult task now.
 
Rapidshare has been there since a decade.. It had a major chunk of uploads once upon a time before these relatively new and lucrative (for affiliates) FSC, FS etc came along. I think people will start uploading to RS again given its sustenance for so long.
