ASOT 228 RULEZZZ!!!!

Man...ASOT 228 is soo good that i am out of words to describe it....simply Outstanding...the Best ASOT there ever is:ohyeah: :yahoo:

I would give it a 150%!!!!!:D

ASOT 228 rules alright...the mixing is impeccable.

What makes it more special is that the tracks were in a set order already (sorted by the number of votes that they got) and that the producer didnt have the liberty to mix them at will and even then the mixing was superb. You couldnt make out when a track started and the previous one ended...

I was overawed by the mixing near the 13th and 12th tracks (Jonas Steur - "Castamara" to Andy Moor - "Halcyon")..cudnt make out when the 12th track started (Andy Moor - "Halcyon"). Impeccable mixing indeed.Castamara is rocking uplifting progressive at its best.

I wouldve thought there were some tracks that shudve been there in ASOT 228. Mark Norman - "Touchdown" and Luminary - "Wasting" (Andy Moor Mix, am an andy moor junky alright ;) )and Whiteroom - Whiteroom (Leama and Moor Mix) was definitely one of the tracks of 2005.Cant believe Gabriel and Dresden - "Tracking Treasure Down" featured in 228, its the biggest piece of $hit I have ever heard...popular choice..doh...

According to the DJ MAg List - Paul Van Dyk is No.1 DJ this year..yeah :D.

Tiesto's started sucking bigtime this year and he deservedly is at No.2.

Armin at No.3 for the 3rd time this year.

Am rooting for Andy Moor for a top 10 slot next year :D.

228 Rox!!Except for Gabriel and Dresden ...doh...

DC.

Well...i think i would have voted for AVB and will do so the next year...coz as of now, AVB Rulezzz......unless PVD comes out with something brilliant...its AVB for me...and 228 is awesome!!!:yahoo:

PVD got some pretty good numbers like for an angel and another way. its mostly mild/dream trance so doesn't fit the likes of goa ravers :P

The below post is IMHO.No offence meant. Please dont take it seriously guys..;)

So you wanna say something about the "God" himself??eh??

As is the case always, the one who always fights for the cause and is the torchbearer of a cause gets overshadowed by the new heroes and slowly but surely everyone forgets the old, but I have NOT.

PVD was there when AVB was still learning the trade.

PVD was producing hits like "We're Alive","Nothing but you","For an angel","Time of our lives","Reflections","Wir Sind Wir" and countless other hits.

PVD was the one who was fighting to keep trance alive at a time when Sasha and Digweed with their Electro music (With the courtesy of Ableton Live) were making people forget trance. Pre-2001, PVD was the ONLY Trance DJ, with the exception of Mauro Picotto I could say (Oakenfold was purely into trash/commercial stuff producing OST music and $hit like "Starry eyed surprise" with shifty.....never a trance DJ IMHO).

It is only after 2001 that Tiesto(With the help of the magnificent "Muzik" and "In Search of Sunrise" Series) and AVB (With the help of "A State of Trance" series) have been able to get the attention of trance lovers with their Progressive/Uplifting trance. It is worth mentioning that the "Muzik","In Search of Sunrise" and "A State of Trance" series are compilations from other artists and the guys have just mixed/produced it well.

In terms of original work PVD leads them by a long way.MixMag has featured PVD as "God of trance" from 1997 and releases an annual mix by the name "MixMag:Return of God" featuring PVD every year since 1997.PVD's music is the way trance is meant to be played hard and loud, rather than the uplifting/progressive trance we've become accustomed to nowadays...

Tiesto and AVB still have a long way to go before they can reach where PVD is now (And I seriously doubt they will ever reach there).

PVD+Scot Project+Matt Darey+Mauro Picotto+M.I.K.E =Pioneers of Trance Music.

I Bow to thee..My Gawd...

Regards,

DC.

PS: Armin's "ControlFreak" (Featured in ASOT 223) is a good example of how trance is meant to be played..hard and loud..

PvD isn't just a DJ anymore, he's at a different level now..

AvB rules this year for sure, and yes DC, Andy Moore is gonna be the next AvB :D !

LOL have you forgotten completely about the goa trance guys, Goa gil pioneered the electronic trance movement in the 1960's. All I am saying I have listened to Politics of dancing and its nothing but mix of commercial crap. AVB has some amazing picks in real trance music, PVD borders more towards commercial soft techno. It seems to me AVB is more or less slowly moving towards goa trance, while PVD is moving to mixing of commercial tracks.

ASOT is played live on AVB's site, and Di.fm trance channel on Thursday's. Some download it through p2p as it plays in midnights mostly. And its gonna be wierd at first for noobs, getting into electronic, but once you do, there's no stopping :ohyeah:

Hmm have ASOT 228 rt now, and man you are lucky to play ASOT at a party, how I wish to party on ASOT. All the parties in Mumbai are either commercial eng music ( more of hip -hop or new age rock ) or the rickshawallah music, bollywood numbers.

The rave scene is also more or less quiet, but in a rave too only pschydelic music is played.

^^ Aces to seriously need to head down to Goa mate ! Was in Anjuna on Saturday, and this German DJ was openly doping and playing absolute psych Trance with a whole lot of firangis just vibrating...

LOL Goa is the place on earth for trance junkies, and Anjuna beach well...

Man you stay at Goa !! So hows the scene at Disco valley, tabletop etc, where is Goa Gil playing this yr ?

ROflmao..How can you judge an artist by a single album???
I agree that Politics of Dancing Part 1 wasnt as good(it wont be if it has tracks like "Rapture" in its tracklist), but dont judge PVD by his worst album.

As for psytrance, I like it and my fav. artitsts are Astral Projection, its a diff. genre in itself IMHO.I stopped listening to psytrance as I started having headaches and nightmares after listening to it...lol..

Well Aces, unfortuantely Goa Gil has commercialised a bit, and it playing in NYC this year end. You can get more here
