lol has Logi quality gone down?

Mine is more than 3 yrs old. Bough right when it was launched. Still no pealing. Just paint over logitech logo is no more.

And mind you my mouse has taken everything from chilly sauce to kurkure :P

I just wipe it clean with acetone every now and then. :P

Less than half of the original price, ditto with quality!!
I have not seen this happen to MX518 older than 1.5-2 yrs, the 1600dpi ones that sold for 2.5K odd and last at 2-2.2K. :S

Seems like the new ones (1800dpi iirc) are a bit low on qual. :(

Now tat requires somethin more than explanation cos Acetone being a solvent present in reagents like nail polish remover, removes the paint.

Where do u apply tat??? ;)

mine too :( both sides. + i got it through gaurav but no bill... nz, i can live with it tho, looks are last in my book for my comp ;)

Does Acetone, being a solvent, damage the plastic of the mouse ?

even though Acetone can dissolve lots of Polymers/Plastics, the vulcanized rubber ( which i guess is used in the MX518) is difficult to dissolve as well as break down, even on heating . But all kinds of Acids and Oils can easily damage the Rubber padding , so that is the reason why i guess the rubber is getting worn of easily. Lays have both these damaging oils and acids, as well as some other preservative chemicals, which boost the damage.
