Current Set Up: Creative Ep 635

Previous Setup: MX 5021 (Gone kaput, thanks to a blown lil IC)

Budget: Not decided but anything under 10k should be fine.
Can stretch a little if its critically important.

Candidates:

1) Swans M10
2) Edifier C3
3) Creative Gigaworks T3
Now coming from the MX 5021 set up as background.. i am now accustomed to the fantastic woofer output.
Love the bass wherever required. Not the boomy one which makes you question your Acoustic Quotient but the tight bass akin to MX 5021.

Not too much into speakers and not been in touch with the latest pricing or availability of the above mentioned models. So do pitch in with your comments and help me decide at the earliest.. should i decide to pick the set from a certain website.. then the order should be placed by 14th of May.

Any other recommendation is definitely welcome :)

Edifier C3 is good but it lacks bass.Z2300 is known for its boomy bass which spacey doesnt want.

That leaves you with M10 & t3.

Havent heard the M10, so cant comment on it. Have heard the T3, they are pretty good.

You can also consider AE2 & AE5.

I just in another part of this forum that AE's are no so reliable.. I have no personal xperince using thm though. it is a word of mouth. The user pointed out that he got it pretty much replaced in twice

After much deliberation, lack of options, and vanishing act of speaker experts here.. i am inclining towards Creative Gigaworks T3.

Any comments about :

1) Cheapest Pricing possible ? (12.5k from lsb i got)

2) How much these Not being THX certified means

3) Any word on support provided by Creative for their EOL products ..? unlike Altec Lansing ofcource.

Where you plan to pick them from. Online, or will you visit good old Nehru Place. The first floor at Nehru place have the official Creative distributors. Try them.

Under 10k Klipsch promedia GMX 2.1 . For anything else Swans fit the bill. I will say get Swans and spend the money in a sound card.

Just for info, I talked with Pro Med today. They don't have the Swans M10 anymore. They were offering the M12 for 7.5k. From what I read, the M12 are no where near the M10's.

Some discussion after all.. :)

@Dark Star

GMX 2.1 has got poor reviews and i am not inclining towards the set after reading whatever i have.

Moreover, i intend to use the speaker with my LCD + PS3 at times as well. Good chance that i ll get my MX 5021 repaired in future.. two good standalone speaker set will be a good proposition.

@ Lord Nemesis

Thats sad bit of news. Did they said they wont be stocking it anymore or something like that ?

Sorry spacey I couldn't help much since I was ill and was hospitalised when you had sent me the PM. In any case, seems like you've zeroed it on the T3. I haven't heard the T3 so cannot comment on the SQ.

What might entice you however, is that Corsair had launched the SP2500 speakers early this year and has received some solid reviews around. Coming from a company that started off with their memory lineup and has now ventured into USB flash drives, power supplies, CPU cooling solutions, SSDs, enclosures and gaming headsets, their entire product lineup has received some very favourable reviews and top-notch customer support in the nation.

The SP2500's little brethren SP2200 has been launched sometime back in India for a price of 5.5k and thereabouts as Sorcerer had posted once. The SP2500 maybe launched anytime sooner. Might want to enquire about this if you do not mind waiting a bit.

All the reviews above have rated the SP2500 really well. The specs are good, performs well on all the tests but lacks a digital port (for something worth ~10-11k INR I am assuming when it hits Indian shores).

You haven't however mentioned your requirements. Is this set going to be used for audio/gaming/movies? What is going to be the priority?

I had recommended the Edifier C3 to Dhruv and he seemed to have liked the set. If he stays anywhere close to you, drop by and give it a shot. He listens to a lot of metal so I am sure bass did matter to him.

Less of gaming.

More of Music and movies.

Thanks for the links. Will check em out (damn! there goes the evening :P )

And again.. Get well soon :)

Btw.. any site which lists top 2.1 channel speakers ??

I haven't heard the Creative Gigaworks T3, but again creative Gigaworks T3 is top of the line speaker set from "Creative Gigaworks" Series and also this set got rave reviews in every review site I have read till date. Moreover this speaker set got 5 out of 5 in techradar. site where all the hifi audio equipments gets reviewed like stereo amplifier, hi-fi speakers, AV Receivers

I actually considered Techradar site's review for both these speakers... the T3 as well as the SP2500.

Both have got 5/5 ratings. Corsair seems to driving them nuts with their performance.

Been using EP 630 since Feb and now its kinda urgent..

Will keep an eye out for these corsair speakers.. Ordered the T3 via lsb.

Very gud decision srsly. I didn't recommend u Corsair SP2500 because it 2.3x more of ur budget. Corsair one would have costed u nearly 22k and at this price AudioEngine would have beaten corsair hands-down \m/. Do post ur impression when u receive ur Creative Gigaworks T3. I hope u like it.
