Are you sure regarding the warranty ? From what I understand, the warranty begins from the day you turn it on, not when you login to iCloud.

afaik the warranty starts for a Macbook once u login with a iCloud account. someone can correct me if I am wrong

Major Update & Bump - so I checked with Apple team to update warranty and they asked me for the Amazon invoice, which we sent, they have now come back telling we are unable to validate the purchase and hence warranty details cant be updated.

so now selling this Macbook without warranty and reducing price to 62k since we have no patience left to go back to Amazon or Apple to sort this out.
Current battery cycle is 18

@Mods
please allow me to edit the OP, I am unable to edit thread details or the tittle

yes did that already, I have currently logged in thru my iCloud account for past week, still not changed in Apple Check coverage site
This is weird then. Did you talk to Apple to ask them why warranty does not show up?? Uusally when a device is activated / turned on, its warranty usually starts from that day. Even if not connected to an iCloud account.

“purchase date not validated” means in Apple database, it’s activated.
Like @sid1712 said, Apple products (MacBooks, iPhones, whatever) get activated once the device is online after getting set up.
Logging an iCloud account or not doesn’t relate to product activation.
Not to scare the OP or anyone but “purchase date not validated” means Apple doesn’t consider it as a legitimate purchase and so until they manually over-write this info in their back end system, it’ll continue to be considered illegitimately sold device :(
And for Apple to change their back end system, usually sending soft copy of the purchase invoice is sufficient.
But in this case, if they denied that too, that’s a serious problem.

@MarioBros was it a “Fulfilled by Amazon” product ? If so, you should complain to Amazon.
On the contrary, if it wasn’t and with Apple website showing that info, this indicates amazon seller has sold probably an illegally procured device. I’m sure most of us here know what an illegally procured device would mean.

Very tempting price and almost wanted to buy it but now I am confused due to “purchase date not validated”.
that is the reason I am selling it without warranty..

we have no patience left to contact the seller or amazon.. its surely not purchased illegally, cause on the box I can clearly see it is an Indian unit and has Bangalore Apple official UB City address for any queries

@MarioBros I never said that you purchased it illegally. I meant that Amazon seller sold you an illegally procured product. Something that Apple considers as illegitimately sold product of theirs. Else there’s no reason for Apple to display that message on product warranty detail page

yes I was speaking about the Amazon seller only... have been using Apple products for over 6-7 years now, first time facing such strange issue.

Damn that sucks. You should still keep a ticket open with Apple regarding this, they are usually understanding regarding these things.

Best of luck for your sale, and apologies for the warranty thing. It’s an amazing price :)

BUMP - final offer for 58k since I have same offer from a local reseller.

I am more interested in giving it to a end user than a reseller who will make some money.
