In special act no one has to change their religion... And child's religion can be decided by parents or he can choose himself after 18yrs.

Jokes aside, i do not like to go out with someone from my community. I dont feel comfortable. I'm a NE Kuki-Tribal christian. I would choose someone from another community anyday, if i could. But meh, still single. And girls nowadays are hard to trust. I'm not looking for someone who is perfect. I would like to be together with a girl whom im comfortable with and someone who is mature. -7/+2 years in age difference dont matter...much. And as for the religion, any will do but she will have to convert. Personal reasons. This is the thing stopping myself from marrying my gf, which is of another religion and that's why we are going for Special Marriage Act 1954, lets see how it goes.
I am planning to marry next year or so.
Btw try to ask this question to a girl, either she will kill you(by words) or leave you...
Lol. My bad. But how so? My opinion is two people of different religion living together as a couple under one roof will be very troublesome. That i'm sure. Perhaps its about time you look for someone from your own religion? No offense.
Here's a story about one of our camp pastors. He's a Muslim-Christian convert and used to joke: i'm a muslim, my gf (now wifey) is a catholic and our son will be a parsi and our daughter a buddhist lol.
And before you ask he converted voluntarily in his youth even before he met the catholic girl. Apparently he grew up in a disturbed but pretty rich muslim family.
Anyway if that Marriage Act is about the one in which the husband has to pay 50% of his income to his wife after divorce then i'll pass! I'd rather have the Marriage on Contract basis Act.
