Rockstar Games announced Friday that Max Payne Mobile will be headed to your iOS and Android devices later this month.
The game will hit the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch on Thursday, April 12, with the Android version following two weeks later on April 26.
"The full classic Max Payne PC experience, Max Payne Mobile has been optimized for both iOS and Android devices and features HD graphics, high-resolution textures, Social Club connectivity and user-customizable controls," Rockstar said in a statement.
Max Payne Mobile will work on the iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S and fourth-generation iPod touch, as well as all three iPads. A list of compatible Android devices in expected within the coming weeks.
Pricing wasn't announced, but as SlashGear noted, "we doubt most people would pay more than $5 for the now 11 year old game."
The announcement comes about two months after Rockstar said it would push back the release of Max Payne 3 to May 15 in North America for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles, with the PC version available on May 29. The game was originally slated for a March debut.

My friends still look at me and say, "He buys games, what a dumbass !" Maybe some years down the line, but not anytime soon
Rockstar Games has announced on their official Twitter Page that the development team has no plan to release demo for Max Payne 3.
On Twitter, Rockstar tweeted, "@jonny92 @wilmo03 @PeterNeedham3 @bret_11 @antonbosnjak @JohnFarley88 @Moorey_92 There are no plans for a demo of Max Payne 3".
Max Payne 3 is going to blow you away. Pun intended. Rockstar released the entire achievement/trophy list for the game earlier today, and it should be more than enough to get your hype level to near catastrophic states.
Once you get your hands on Max Payne 3 in all of its shrink wrapped glory, you will be able to challenge yourself to over 40 unique challenges and accomplishments. These will span across the single player and multiplayer modes. While the list that Rockstar has made available excludes a few secret achievements, it only makes you ponder the creativity behind them.
With the “License to Kill†achievement, players will be tasked with searching for hidden golden guns throughout the campaign. If the golden guns are one-hit kills, my head might actually explode.
Other achievements such as, “It’s Fear That Gives Men Wingsâ€, require players to refine their skills as Max. Earn your wings by gracefully diving through the air and killing 10 enemies in a row while in Bullet Time.
It's Fear That Gives Men Wings
If you never miss a shot providing overwatch for Passos, in the Stadium level, you will earn “The One Eyed Man Is King†achievement.
The One Eyed Man Is King
To claim That Old Familiar Feeling†again, you will need to ensure that you clear out every last one of the laser-target-wielding thugs in the apartment complex.
That Old Familiar Feeling
There are certainly a variety of achievements/trophies to earn in Max Payne 3, and while some may feel like your standard inclusions, it’s nice to see some thought being put into the names and actual tasks. Personally, I hate just seeing kill 50 enemies and unlock the “Killer†achievement. Achievements should be more than just a task for developers, it makes me feel like they almost get lazy when it can add even better layer to your game.

Game doesn't seem noir enough from all thr trailers I've seen. Looks more like B movie. I never completed the first one as it was too old for my liking and the character models sucked (couldn't handle the permanent smirk on Max's face) but the 2nd one was much ahead of it's time. It was dark, had hauntingly good music and offered no sense of hope at any stage. On top of it, it had a real story.
Not bashing on this one but it seems games these days pay more attention on game-play than story-telling, music, dialog etc. Perhaps, today's average gamer is more concerned with achievements/trophies than getting a good overall feel out of the game.
