Max Payne 3 - Discussion Thread

Trailers for LA Noire were super awesome too. Although that game was good, it wasn't awesome. Judging from a trailer is never good, it's just like an advertisement.

^+1 to that! Currently i am on Vice in LA.noire I had such huge expection but its just good and seriously not awesome although its trailer were. Pus if i were to judge from the trailer then they ruined Max Payne series. :\

^ In a way, yes! Rockstar has taken a wide detour away from Max Payne's several unique styles, which made it legendary! But still I believe in Rockstar.

Its good they changed it. Why always stick to the same stuff? I know its awesome but then c'mon a change is pretty much needed. Maybe nowdays you would not like a new game in that noir style you might even get bored of it because its already been in the previous 2. I think its a good step from Rockstar , irrespective if the game turns out to be good or bad.

You should realize many people buy into an old franchise primarily because of nostalgia. I agree a new game should add upon the older ones but should also keep the core elements intact. I guess we will have to wait for the release to find out how it fares. Personally, I'd like to see soundtrack as awesome as the 'broken guitar tune' and 'late goodbye' tracks from MP2.

#[member='rajveersingh09'] what you said does makes sense and its good but still 2 parts released in a same genre-style and then a huge change in the 3rd part. Its a bit weird for the people who were so into the previous two games. It for me cause i completed the 2 games last year in Oct. so seeing a big difference is a bit odd you know.

Exactly my point.

Rockstar Games, in partnership with Marvel, is planning a three-part original digital comic series based upon the upcoming "Max Payne 3."

The story is being written by Dan Houser, one of the co-founders of Rockstar, and Sam Lake, who wrote the script for the original "Max Payne" game and its sequel.

Handling both pencils and inks is Fernando Blanco, who has worked on multiple properties for both Marvel and DC. Blanco, mostly known for his cover art for various Marvel titles will do the same for the "Max Payne 3" comic book.

The three-issue limited series delves into the Max's background, exploring the events of the first two games, which leads into his latest exploits. It will also shed light on Max's early years, moments that precede the games.

The first two games employed a graphic novel structure when conveying the narrative, so it makes sense to recap past events in a similar fashion.

The first issue, "After the Fall" will be released in the next few weeks according to Rockstar, and for free, via the Rockstar Newswire, the official "Max Payne 3" website, and other comic channels.

The launch of the digital version will be accompany a limited edition print version. News on the latter, along with pricing, has yet to be disclosed.

Yes if i was in Aman's position i would cancel the order. You can easily play the SP through ahem methods. So he means he was buying for multiplayer not really for the SP.
