No further details revealed but the game possibly uses the Frostbite 2 engine from DICE and is developed by Danger Close Games (previously EA LA) the same guys behind the previous MOH titles.

Correct me if I am wrong but the one released last year (or was it the year before?) had got lukewarm response. Why make a sequel?

It is a franchise like CoD now, milk it while it lasts is the mantra here.

Personally did not like the last release at all. I have started diverging into the combat simulator type shooters like Operation Flashpoint, will be trying ArmA II soon so lets see.

With the possible release of Black Ops 2 from Treyarch during Q4 this year, this one is going to be another MW3 vs BF3 affair. Agreed the previous MOH installment was just meh!

I am waiting for this one now

#Alpha17 : ARMAII is full of bugs

Might be full of bugs but still I find it a lot more satisfying to sneak up to an enemy position [STEALTH LIKE] and then pump them full of sharp little metal shards which kill them and during any time that I get spotted they can do the same to me [NO magical health REGEN+ OR health packs lying around on the battlefield].

To each his own. Cheers!!

How uselessly bereft of ideas can a studio be to come up with a name like Warfighter?? Seriously? WARFIGHTER??

ps - that's without even going into the rip-off name aspect (GRAW)

dont you guys think people might misunderstand it as some paintball simulator ?? thats why EA has clearly named it as WAR-Fighter

#Chaoseater most FPS games these days are pretty short, average single player time ~6 -- 9 hours, depending on difficulty and other variables.

MP is where the companies extract their pound of flesh from the players, micro-transaction fees et al.

And as I do not look into MP [due to erratic availability of net], I generally rate games based on their SP set-up.

I'll look forward to anything made in Frostbite 2. That engine is cool. As cool as Danger Close logo!

Not as good as CD PROJECKT REDs' RED Engine, that engine butchers all current graphical behemoths -- apart from Crytech's works.

First details:

Hardcore mode, co-op confirmed, Bin Laden mission ruled out.

Forthcoming FPS sequel Medal of Honor: Warfighter features a new one-shot-kill hardcore mode as well as some kind of co-operative play. As reported by CVG, developer Danger Close hasn't detailed exactly what form the co-op content will take, though a full multiplayer campaign seems unlikely. As with the 2010 franchise reboot, the game will focus on Tier 1 Operators as they go about their day-to-day. Real life soldiers have apparently contributed to the game's storylines. However, don't expect a recreation of the Osama Bin Laden assassination from last year.

"That's not our story to tell," producer Greg Goodrich explained.

"That's 'family business' to [the Tier 1 Operators]," he added. "It's been an interesting exercise learning what's okay and what's not okay [to portray in the game]."

Characters returning from the last game include Preacher, Voodoo and Mother among others, while a flooded Isabela City in the Philippines is one of the title's confirmed locations. The developer is also promising more player choice during single player missions and improved visuals, powered by DICE's Frostbite 2.0 engine. The game is expected on shelves some time in October, with a full reveal expected at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next week.

Greg Goodrich, who is the producer working on Medal of Honor: Warfighter, told GameHunters that, “When we begin our story there is sort of this crossroads that Preacher has come to that the relationship with his wife can go either way.

“She needs help raising their child and she is about to give up. But Preacher he is a fighter and he is going to do whatever it takes to repair that and fix that.â€

The developer added, “It all comes to a head. That is sort of the crux of these two individuals and her understanding why he does what he does and who he is and truly why he is gone all the time because she now sees the evil in the world that he sees.â€
