I get the feeling this would somehow be better with a PS3 controller. I played the demo on the Xbox 360 and the visuals seemed really fuzzy.
I second that. Somehow I felt the actual gameplay visuals are not as good as the demo one for X360.

But the gameplay is awesome. I think they even changed the parrying system (or I wasnt that good in the demo :P ), its much easier to parry now. Though still to get handle on the cutting system, missed two objective of cutting the left hand out.

Completed the game. The game was quite short around 5 hours which every Platinum game has been , the game does not requires you to have any knowledge of previous Metal gear Games though there are references to SOP to go with but story is not something to speak out action is.

Pros
1. Zan Datsu
2. Large Scale Battles
3. Bad Ass Bosses
4. Good mix of challenge in gameplay
5. Game Music
6. You can play second time with all your upgrades
7. 60 fps

Cons -
1. Dodge is difficult you have to press A + X together to dodge.
2. Camera is awkward when in blade mode.
3. Poor Story

IMO, this game is everything DmC needed to be. Really enjoying the boss fights with the background score. And never used dodge till now, only blocks which is easier than the demo. Btw any luck on cutting off the left arms? I am replaying levels to get it right.

Completed the first chapter after the brief training mission and paused it after the intro video that takes us into the second mission. The first boss battle with the MGR left me with the jaws on the floor, shattered all around! :hail:

The trademark fast-paced action from Platinum Games returns and Raiden blazes past across the ground and the opponents like a hot knife through butter, hacking and slicing anything and everything on his way. The best part is, any object in the world such as a car, tree, light post, pillar etc. can be hacked to pieces (and the piece count even turns up on the HUD!). Boss battles are completely bad arse as dinjo has correctly put it.

Completed the game on normal. The end fight cutscene put me to sleep for a min. Rest of the game is what I wanted new DMC to be ie incredibly awesome hack and slash.

Off to Gears of War.

But yes even though this is a fast paced hack-n-slash title, it retains that MGS (4?) touch. Design of various characters (Raiden's design is just badarse!), dialogues from typical Jap. devs., similar atmosphere and visuals outside.

Completed the title yesterday night but got too lazy and crashed. :P The bosses were totally badass in this one - loved every bit of the boss battles. Epic in its true sense. And very different from one another and never was an instance when a feeling of boredom crept in during the boss battles.

Well, chuck that. It took me 7 hours and 50 minutes to complete it. Longer than what most assumed it to be? And I am not particularly bad at hack-n-slash titles having completed plenty of those before. The reason being, I got stuck at one of the initial stages - to be particular, at one of the boss battles not figuring out the correct strategy and died countless deaths. I did not know that there were the health packs hidden in the crates. By then it was already too late! :(

To those who are yet to play the game, here are few handy tips from my side:

1. Try learning the parry move early on. Towards the later stages and the harder boss battles, this can be quite effective to block their attacks, some of them which can be extremely devastating! Also try the A+X move against the bosses. It can evade their attacks very effectively.

2. To open the blue item crates (these have unique upgrades hidden), use the blade mode and slash them. I did not realise this until the last stage. (What an irony!)

3. At one point, you are going to face two bosses one after the other (classic Japanese dev.!), and there are going to be very low healthkits to keep you alive and kicking. Do not waste them on the first boss as the dwarf geckos will drop plenty of those repair kits when killed.

4. When the Japanese symbol appears on the right side of the screen momentarily, initiate the blade mode and slash to glory! Do not waste it.

5. During boss battles, you will run out of health packs and die. In some cases, there are health packs hidden in the crates strewn around. Search and get them before attempting to attack the boss. In some other cases, it is obtained by using the blade mode to chop off some of the objects thrown towards Raiden by the boss himself. So wait for this sequence patiently.

6. Lastly, wait for the credits sequence to roll out completely!

Platinum games has never developed a game for PC so yes it not coming

There is no guarantee it isn't. There was a snap of the game on the PC that came out sometime back. It could be in development as well. And there's no word from the dev. or Konami, that the game is cancelled for the PC either.

Done with the game after a long and grueling battle with the final boss. WOW! I had never been so frustrated with any boss since Vergil's fight in Devil May Cry 3 on the PS2. This was one hell of a fight, but I was mostly pissed off at those stupid debris slashing sequences. Thankfully, GameFAQ members had some handy tips to get past that sequence. My game time clocked around 7 hours and 22 minutes. I has a great time with the game. Never been a fan of Metal Gear franchise, but I love what Platinum games have offered in terms of their true hack-en-slash spin-off.

The length could really have been better. Boss Battles were utterly satisfying to the point that I literally had to beg for more. Monsoon's boss fight was the most creative one. Sundowner and Bladewolf were the easiest. Sequel is definitely coming for sure. Wish they increase the length, fix the camera and perform some tweaks on the blade mode.

dinjo: I'd probably want to see a video of you beating the final boss on hard mode. It took me like 40 attempts or so to get through it on normal. I wonder how you blazed through it on Hard.:dead:
