Mobiles upto 5k and 7k

Hi

Need help in buying two cell phones for two of my friends.
budgets are 5k and 7k which can't be stretched by any imagination. :ohyeah:

I'm not much into mobiles and have no knowledge at all. I'll trust
your knowledge blindly. So, don't disappoint me and my friends.

Now I've identified three mobiles
For 5k budget -> Nokia 2600, Nokia 2650
For 7k budget -> Nokia 6610i

but the reviews I've read are not that great. Any leading brand like Nokia,
Sony and Motorola will do but I know ppl prefer Nokia. I'll leave it to you
guys. Post in your recommendations.

Requirements: Looks, some Techy features like WAP, Java, PC connectivity
etc. will be great, Color Screen, Camera !? :huh: etc. etc.
 
I think your choice is good itself. For 7K the 6610i is good. Even the 6610 is good. Only if your friend desperately needs a camera, go for a 6610i. The camer quality is very bad.(maybe I have been spoiled by the quality of the 6600 and 7610 :bleh:).

And for 5K, you cannot get a better one. Maybe the Sony Ericsson T610. This comes with bluetooth....

6610 has PC connectivity and WAP. My dad uses it as his modem EVERY DAY. Of course, the speed you get is very less. Browsing speed is 114kbps(which is pretty good) but download speed is like 20-40kbps. But then how much more can oyu excpect for 600/- per month unlimited??? Airtel BTW.
 
spend a little bit extra and get SE K300i
wid cam as good as 6600..thts 0.3 MP
and USB port for connectivity...

IMO:
6610i>k300i>T610/630

In case u need a CAm :
philips C115 ->> 5k or even less

T630 costs 8k in chennai. QF , West bengal got no VAT also sales tax is higher, i tell u wont get for even 6k maybe 6.5k-7k.

My suggestion:
Get 6610 and relax :)
 
I got these prices from an Indian website
SONY ERICSSON - T-630 -> Rs.7,500
SONY ERICSSON - K300i -> Rs.6,000
NOKIA - 6610i -> Rs.7,000

and friends, i need suggestions for 2 mobiles not 1 :P
so temme which one for both categories. :)

Quickie, the SE K300i is waaayy better than either the T630 and the 6610i! Its nothing more than a slightly scaled down K500i and trust me the K500i is a great phone.

For starters - a 65K color screen versus the 4K color screen in the 6610i. Colors look significantly better on a 65K color screen. The Sony Ericsson UI (User Interface) is pretty good as usual. The K300i cam will be definately much better. If you're getting it for 6K, its an absolute bargain.

I cant believe guys are still recommending a 3yr old phone like the 6610 :O. Nokia ought to wake up and start putting out new technology into their phones instead of tweaking and re-selling the same models over and over again with minor upgrades ( 6610 -> 6610i , 6230 -> 6230i )

The T630 is decent, but again its a tad outdated compared to the K300i, has a slower UI and moreover has only 2MB memory versus the 12MB on a K300i.

As for the 5K category, a Nokia 3100/3120 should be a better choice than the 2600/2650.

i think for 5k budget you should go for nokia 3200 (i dont like the model though) it has almost same features like 6610 and for 5.5k it is the best (if only you are not concerned with the style) its with camera same as 6610i and fm too
and for the 7k i think you should go for k 300i itis the best deal for that price (though it has no fm) it s just like 6600 without s60 but in that budget you hardly get any phone with s60 (except n gage)
 
all i am trying is to help him up by showing wht all options he has :P

As for the K30i..even i agree go for it..its a nice phone though it has a smaller screen as compared to T630..but the phone's gr8..:)
 
For the 7k phone, if u could put another 500 bux, i think the best phone available is ngage QD.Biggest advantage is it has symbian, which is a must for techies.The only downers are no camera and 4k colour screen.
Other good phone for this range is Nokia 3220, way better than 6610i, Has got 65k colour screen, EDGE support, Bluetooth,light messaging.The only thing you'd be missing would be FM radio, but then cheap radio handsfree for this phone are available for 150 rupees.
 
The n-gage may be only 4K screen. But it is superb. Much better than many many more expensive phones. The clarity is amazing.

But I doubt it is available for 7.5K. A friend recently bought it for almost 9K.

But if it is available, then it is a must buy.

But the usage may be a bit awkward. If some people do not like the way the phone is supposed to be used, then however good the phone is, they will never get used to it.
 
Go for da N gage man ! Got 1 day before yesturday for 7.2k (fone) + 1K (256MB card). With bill n warranty, amazing value for money man. Go for it !!!

also its shape isn't proper for phone use. ;)
are the games pre-loaded or u need to buy em?
wat prices? lol..i know lotsa questions...

anyways, k300i looks good at 6k
and nokia 3100 is available for 5.2k
anything else?
 
yes ngage is a phone cum gaming device...
the shape is a bit awkward but u get used to it in a few days..

the games dont come preloaded..u gotta get a MMC and either buy games or get them from the net..

And oh yeah the 3220 hasnt got Bluetooth
