Today i got the graphic card from bought from the members market in TE. It is a ASUS HD 4760. I took the old GFX out and plugged in the new one . Something went wrong and the computer didnt start. i went to a local repair shop and he confirmed that there is a motherboard failure . the board is a ASrock G31. And the Powersupply is a 450w power supply. The board just went over its warranty period . Approx 3 months over warranty period. what can i do any help is appreciated.

Try another gpu from your friend or this gpu on your friends pc. If you got onboard vga, best is to try that. Also reset your bios and see if fans are spinning and system is powering off via cabinet power button.

Also, remove the rams and see if it gives beeps. if yes then your board cannot be faulty.

Sorry for the late replies.. i dont have a accessible PC right now :(

I tried with the old card which is fine. But it did not boot. The fans are all working when i power on without the GFX. There is no beeping thing on the board. I tried seating the RAM it also did not work.

What did the local repair shop exactly check, to ascertain the motherboard is the root..?

@asingh He used some board which showed the fault in numbers like D4 etc . He also checked with other PSU . All the fans are working correctly but there is no display output.

@virus32win The GFX said 400w at 12v -26amp but my PSU is 12v-14amp.

Your PSU does not meet requirement of the power drawn by GPU, hence in the thrust of sufficient power motherboard have gone for toss.

Bill depends upon warranty left on the motherboard, for addon graphics card PSU replacement required which gonna add 1800-2200~ FSP SAGAII 400W/ Corsair CX430.

I have no warranty left it just crossed the 2 year mark by 3 months.

Wow ... i was just going to ask the same question what PSU should i buy .... I am amazed reps to you....

Any information about current CPU? Buy motherboard with DDR3 ram support, Corsair DDR3 2GB 1333Mhz @600~ Gigabyte G41 DDR3 motherboard @2300~, Corsair CX430 V2 PSU @ 2200~

For AMD upgrade get alone Phenom II x2 550BE(CPU isn't unlockable) from that sale then couple with brand new..

1. Asus M5A78L-M LE AM3@ 2800

2. DDR3 memory as per your requirement( Corsair XMS3 4GB 2x2GB 1600Mhz dual channel kit@1500/ Corsair Value 2GB DDR3 1333@ 600 per stick)

Above suggestion is for tight budget, once you extend there are plenty of more options.

I found a local mother board repair shop and gave the motherboard there . I dont know what he did but the mb is now working and he somehow made the hd4670 work with the 12v 14a psu.
