The Moto E is now fully revealed, thanks to a Brazilian retailer that published photos of it, as well as a list of its specs.

According to the retailer, the new Moto E sports a 4.3-inch display - just as previously rumored. Its resolution isn’t mentioned, but it’s expected to be of 720 x 1280 pixels. The model that will be commercialized in Brazil is the XT1025, which comes with dual SIM capabilities. Here are the rest of the handset’s specs and features:
  • Android 4.4 KitKat
  • 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi
  • 5MP rear camera without Flash (there's no front-facing camera)
  • Dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 4GB of internal memory
  • microSD card support (up to 32GB)
  • 1,980 mAh battery
  • 124.8 x 64.8 x 12.3 mm (it looks like the rumored 6.8mm thickness wasn’t accurate after all)
  • 140 grams
Like the Moto G, the new Moto E will have exchangeable Motorola Shell (available in various colors). The new smartphone will most probably be announced on May 13 as a device that’s “priced for all.”

Update:

Motorola adds LTE to its mid-range Moto G handset
Additional Features:
  • LTE
  • SD card slot

The unlocked handset is priced at £149 in the UK and $219 in the US with a choice of black or white bodies -- and both should be hitting retailers in the next few weeks.

It would be a brilliant backup phone for a lot of people who need to carry more than one phone. A dual sim variant would make it more sweeter.

Have to say, so ugly. I mean I appreciate Motorola for making a budget phone with these specs but then again, the phone' s design is one of the worst I have come across. Probably Nokia X is better design wise.

Yep, the design is not so aesthetic but again at that price point don't think people value designs so much. For instance look at Samsung's offerings like Y, Young, Fame, Star, Trend etc - poor spec, bad design, slow, etc still I see a lot of people using those.

how is the dual core Snapdragon for daily multitasking (whatsapp, fb, evernote, gmail, keep etc.). Any review of any phone using this SoC?

^^ The leaks dont confirm what SoC will it be exactly. If it is a snapdragon 200 based, there are 2 options, either a Cortex A5 based chip or a Cortex A7 based chip.

The cortex A5 being a very old and low performance architecture (used in the Nokia X series). Also the gpu used in this SoC is a adreno 203 which again is good for nothing.

Or it can be the Cortex A7 based newer SoC which has very good performance and consumes less power too (so better battery life). The coupled gpu is also much much powerful adreno 302.

The leaked specs say video recording of 480p only, so in this case my guess is it has the Cortex A5 based processor.

So, the answer to your question,

If it has a Cortex A5 processor, you can check the performance of Nokia X, it should be comparable. (Heavier apps will slow down the phone, web browsing will be no fun)

On launch day, Flipkart will be offering 50% off on Moto E covers, 50% off in Transcend memory cards, and Ebooks worth Rs. 1000 free.
