Are you talking about the rock hammer in the bible scene? The bible opens to the Exodus section :P.
 
This is one of my fav movies! Very cool movie :)

I have never read much of Stephen King, mostly cause i am not a big fan of horror.. was quite surprised when i learnt that he wrote the novel on which the movie was based on! :D

nope i am referring from the point morgan freeman(red) boards the bus to the end of the film
if u see this scene correctly , listen to what red is saying to himself , u will notice that something is not right .
 
For God's sake, do not put spoilers or even hints of the important phases of the movie here. Just imagine if you knew the end, you would not go through the emotional roller coaster (its a massive free fall actually) that you do when you watch the movie with a clean slate.

It's one of the best movies that you can ever watch.

It's called Cidade de Deus. The same directors latest movie is also pretty good. Called City of Men.
 
All i can say is that if u are a movie lover, u owe it to ur self to watch this movie and experience the brilliance of gr8 acting and direction apart from the subtle but very effective story.

but shawshank is miles ahead of green mile.

green mile the movi is not that good i comparison to the novel.
but shawshank is much better than book it is based upon.

@Trivia :-

When Red is on the bus, one shot shows all of the windows on the bus open. In fact, Red's arm is hanging outside the window. In the very next shot of the bus (a long shot from a distance), all of the windows are closed.

Saw Shawshank Redemption 2day... Green Mile was very good movie and a fav of mine but I guess Shawshank Redemption is tighter and better. Green Mile has higher emotional content and has some very good moments but is a tad too long and has some loose ends.

Just a Q. Did Andy dig the tunnel for 19years or did he start digging much later? I guess he did start digging very early and he planned it all...

Brilliant movie...

the too long thing was intentional as i know it.

else showing 16 years passing i n the jail would not give sense of time to the user.

and bout digging time , i think RED says it all at the end part of movie.

it think it took 16 years.

and the movie is also bout characters.

th warden who says he believes in bible(and blah blah) turns out to be mos corrupt in the end.
 
Too long referred to Green Mile at over 3 hrs.

Yeah, I guess he started digging after the surprise check got over and he knew he could keep those stuff to cover-up.
 
And red says when he gets the hammer "It would take about 400 years to dig a tunnel out of here" :ohyeah:
