so i might ....(really thats a big might) shift to hyderabad , so if any of you guys from hyderabad could help me out with some queries of mine , could you just pm your chat ids and i can bug you online

hey if your questions aren't too private-ish/personal-ish (nice vocab i have i know) why not just post them here so everyone can get info? im also casually interested in finding out stuff about hyderabad... you can leave out info like why you are moving there if you dont want to share :D

oh i just wanted to know about the maids and localities and rent in those areas , rave chatted with me last night ... my wife and i are still talking about it , so we shall see how that goes

Its a mess right now: There is this extreme loyalty towards political parties and their goals, to a point that they roughed up Reliance installations over unsubstantiated claims withing minutes after the broadcast. Just this other day, I was a victim to those loyalists who were holding up every car that went by them to add those "Telengana" stickers. Christmas, New Year and Sankranti were/will be a miserable experience. The "bandhs" every other day are causing insane traffic deadlocks at petrol stations, educational institutions are forced to expand their working hours to redeem the whole of december.

On the bright side: Renting a place is a lot easier* and cheaper than the likes of Mumbai. Movie theaters are abundant and cheap. Easily beats every other state in the south at nightlife. Jewelery is cheaper than anywhere else in India. Food is amazing.

If you are moving from Kerela, should prolly give you a heads up about the population, road traffic density, ambient air pollution levels, ambient noise pollution, old city, punishing summers and power cuts in summers.

* : For a someone from Kerala however, I guess its a lot harder. Or so I'd imagine from my previous visit to Kerela.

Excellent! Now I hope more tech companies move to Pune from Hyderabad due to these problems :ohyeah:

I hope not

Seriously, Just see if you can move to some better place like Bangalore..

BTW, iam a Hyderabadi but iam staying in blore from almost a decade and i always prefer BLR to HYD.

And this Telangana issue added more masala to the already messed up city.

You better avoid it. Move their only if you have no other option.

Well, i can't say the problems of Hyderabad in a single line.

I just feel its completely disorganized. You will see 15yr old kids driving 7 seater autos filled with 15 people!!!

Even the bus services are not upto the mark.

And hey..don't consider Telangana issue to be a small issue by any chance! You know how much chaos it created!

Are you planning to shift to Hyderabad for related reason or just for a change??

Also there is another thread running in TE, "Worst city in India" something of that sort. Just do have a look at that thread once...

As someone who has lived in Hyd'bad for a over a decade, I can say it's a fantastic place to live. I have spent about 6 months in Chennai now and am already missing my city terribly (this despite me being a Tamilian).

Yes, there is this ongoing mess. But the city is still pretty peaceful and safe.

Take my word, Hyd'bad isn't gonna die. Will only emerge stronger out of this crisis!

And can you expand on this :)
I think my intent behind that statement is fairly obvious, not sure what/how to add.
Its etiquette to not consider Maharashtra as a southern state, so leaving that its my opinion that Hyd beats every other state at nightlife. That statement was based on not just a direct count of available options but also the activity in such places relative to Bangalore and Chennai.

I understood that, but wanted more details.

When is kickout time in a club or pub in Hyderabad ?

I was there many yrs back, it was a dry city in those days. Since when has it become not dry ?

can someone tell me abt road tax for other state vehicles in Hyd?..

will be probably shifting in a month or two..& will be staying there for around a year.

In KA, other state vehicles are allowed to ply on the roads upto ~12 months of entry in state...after tat road tax has to be paid.

Something similar in Hyd, AP?..
