MTNL Triband issues since yest

After the DNS issues, I was still facing some issues with MTNL triband. Registered the complaint online and the linesman came @ my place and when he opened the junction box, the problem was evident. This rainy season and old wiring had caused my connection junction to crust with rust and some gooey stuff. He cleaned it, and replaced the junction element and voila, my net is back on track with no disconnections and good speeds

^ that gooey stuff aka jelly is used to keep water out of the cables i think. Its there in all telephone cables.

Does line problem can cause slow downloads ?

im on 512kbps ul connection

my dl speed is around 60-65KBps

but torrent speed is only 45-55KBps

is it normal

ps: also facing connectivity issues like if i pick up the phone the net gets disconnected
