Mumbai-Udaipur Journey. Advice needed

This kind of late but I need some advice.

I am travelling to Udaipur tonight (23-02-2012). Plan to leave by 3-4 in the night. Drive for 6 hours and reach Vadodra by 10AM. Take a halt there for an hour or two and continue to Udaipur, and plan to reach by say 3:00 PM

I am not going to Udaipur for Tourism, going for business related requirements. I have a Honda Accord (2002) so dont expect any trouble from the car, plus I have heard great things about the highway.

My questions.

1) From Vadodra should I go through Ahmedabad, or should I take the bypass and go through Godhra?

2) Do you think the timeline is possible?

Please also feel free to add any other related advice/tips/etc.
 
its a straight smooth road all the way to Delhi... u shouldn't have any problems... was in good condition the last time I took that highway...
 
Unless you have a specific need to drive down suggest you look into flights as well. I recently flew Delhi Jodhpur for a fare of 2550 all incl. and Udaipur was not much more expensive. Plus driving down in an accord would probably cost you about the same in fuel expenses alone not to mention the time spent.
 
Well I reached Udaipur from Bombay in a 12 hr long drive. This is including a 35 minute halt at McDonalds, another 40 minutes at Anand and a another 15 min halt midway for tea. Averaged roughly 80KM per hour.

All in all a great drive with long smooth highways.
