no dude, m having xfx 9600gt, have installed the drivers for that. DO i have to install anything like ati catalyst drivers ?. I installed ati southbridge drivers. Are they same ?

^^No need to install ATI VGA drivers if you are using 9600GT ..

Why you have shared so much memory with 9600GT ? 9600Gt will work fine with its own 512Mb memory.

Do you want a supercomputer or what ? You system is booting at 20s which is alredy very fast .. What do you expect a Desktop PC to do ? Work in a blink of an eye ?

i havent shared anything like that. I see the full 4gb memory in vista and 3.x gb in xp.

Actually after windows boot, the startup items are not loading faster. For ex. I have Bitdefender total security 2009. It used to load quickly in my old setup. But now it delays to show the icon in tray. This system doesnt run like a fast pc. Thats y m worried. Its much below my expectations !!!

FYI - my room temperature is 32.5c. Quiet hot right ?. But that has nothing to do with rapid installation of software, i think . During hot season / non - ventilated rooms, only big resource consuming applications like 3d apps, and advanced games will have an impact IMO.

Also tell me if there is any other test remainning. For HDD i checked my brothers pc - even his 250gb sata runs at 46c ( in proper ventilated room) . FYI his psu is huntkey 450w v-power.

Anyway posting 3d mark xp and 3d mark vista test results - plz tell me whether the score is ok for my system

Hi

There is no problem with your hardware except HDD. I feel you have morethan one IDE devices. Just remove them. Start up again without the IDE items. If you have any sataII hdd laying with your friend , instale your fresh copy of OS. Then instale all the driver properly. Your problem will be sorted out.

Note:Many times we makes mistake by not loading driver properly. It is a common Issue.

Yes dude, i have a lg dvd rom ide. I also tried removing that. But no difference. Will try with different hdd. So by the test results are u sure everything is normal other than the hdd ?. Even the SMPS ?.

One question . Will this setup ( x2 550 + m3a78em ) consume more power than my old setup ( 3800+ asus m2npv vm ) ???.

The reason i asked this is cuz m using the same psu which i had in my old setup...

make sure that all the ide pins are intact on HDD. I think one of the ide pin HDD might be gone inside a bit. Kindly inspect it.
