Missing tabs in Internet Options Control Panel

First priority: Download CWShredder and run it.
http://www.merijn.org/files/CWShredder.exe [or from other URL below]
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe
[Removes all CoolWebSearch hijacker variants and it should restore all the missing tabs]

More Information: To restore missing tabs, open Registry Editor and goto these locations:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ Control Panel]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ Control Panel]

Disable the restrictions by typing the values to "0" for the relevant keys. By trying the manual procedure, you are just making the tabs visible and not removing the parasites. CWShredder is the way to go.

Or, "Remove IE Restrictions & Restore Missing tabs".

Links not working Dhanush!!! Could you give them to me again??

And in the other manual option, I don't have Internet Explorer after I come to the Microsoft folder...i.e in the registry editor.....

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to sridhanush again.

Thanks for the help Dhanush. not only the above post but also for the helo given while chatting on mess.

But unfortunately, my problem still persists.....

Hmm It will just take fifteen minutes, make a backup of your registry and desktop/ my documents and re-install windows...

Agree with Aces, you're wasting more time worrying about the problem , which a quick re-install could fix ;)

i think each time he reinstalls he ends up with a new problem.. fist system dialog not appearing , now ie properties not appearing :P

I didn't reinstall WinXP before.... I only reinstalled SP2.

And no.. this problem was there even before I reinstalled SP2. It did not go away like the system properties dialog box....

Click Start -> Run , and then type GPEDIT.MSC

Navigate to this path:

Computer Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Windows Components \ Internet Explorer \ Internet control panel
Double click the "disable the General page" and then select "Disable".
do this for all your missing tabs
if it does not solve the problem change it back to "not configured" (which is same as disabled).
and try to read up on the "explain" tab for more details .....

Thanks Deejay for replying... but the problem is still not solved. All the options except Programs and Privacy were at NOT CONFIGURED. Programs and Privacy was at disabled. and these were the only 2 tabs that were working. I disabled all the tabs and it still does not work.

Even after rebooting my system.

Try this

Click Start -> Run , and then type

regsvr32 /n /i inetcpl.cpl

reboot
if problem remains then try to repair or fix ur internet explorer in the maintenence mode
Click Start -> Run , and then type

rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\inf\ie.inf

if there is any error then refer to this microsoft KB article.
