My experience with S4 so far(NOT AN AUDIOPHILE OR DETAILED REVIEW)

First of all my thanks goes to Achal(Strategy) for sending me his S4.

S4 are quite small when compared to re1 or re0. Very good for portable use and comfortable. Oval gels seal much better than head-direct biflanges.

S4 is known for bass. Good impact. Heart beat in some songs and movies seems like u r listening to ur heart pounding.:)

S4 at times get too bass heavy for me and became a reason for headache:(

Nothing to Cherish in mids esp vocals. At time i feel S4 get a little harsh in vocals. In A track by Pankaj Udhas - Aansoo Jab Palkon Se, I felt harshness. However u can tweak tht using EQ.

Treble is better than my Re1. U wont have any complaints here. Its not top notch but satisfactory.

S4, Re0 and Re1 falls under same price range

While S4 rules in bass, Re0 in Treble and Re1 in mids.

they do same thing differently. It all comes down to personal preference.

For now, my personal fav is Re1. They are very smooth and suits my taste.

Forgot to mention what i discovered about my musical taste after listening to S4.------ I dnt like bass impact at all, I cant live without good midrange and i still love bass from my lost RE0 though i always wanted a little more quantity. So i m back to my RE1.
 
Yeah bass goes heavy in some songs ....but i can live with it
you will like the K702 ...altough the bass is great ( sometimes more impactfull than the s4 ) but never in lead ...i am sure you will like them.
LOL 4 to the point lines ...good i'd say

i am iching to hear the re1 but my DAPs are still not here!
 
In some ways, the s4 is similar to NE7m when it comes to bass I guess. Sometimes I found

the bass pounding my head way too much causing headache. After I switched to RE1, initially

I found it lacking bass but after using it for about 2 weeks, I find them having the exact

quantity of bass and they are so lovely/comfortable to wear and can listen to them for

hours together without causing any fatigue.
 
i am also interested in fischer audio products ....but my recent international orders ...have made me wary of indian customs and post
its all on toxic and ambir ...if they price it right ( and gii am getting them !!

I will send u my re1 around 18th, Quite busy now a days, have to deliver the code we r working on.

Yup evn i m affraid of Indian customs. i always prefer local buy if its more thn 2k
 
S4 doesn't require an amp, using it with uDAC might not be such a good option as it already is bassy, might not have good synergy with S4.
 
Yea, I think maybe different soundtracks would make you understand S4 is pretty tight on bass ! And not excessive, I mean I get how excessive is relative to people but even then. But maybe cause I play the guitars and the bass so I unintentionally look for it in the sound. But yes the S4 ovals are second to none ! Hands down there. I tried the S4 with my Fiio, No good.Unamped they sound perfect.
And about eh vocals, there isa tad of a siblance issue with S4 but the vocals are pretty nice.
To each his own ? :)

I wana audition the NE 6/ Hiipo Boom :( Anybody willing to do a favour ?

Haa Haa ,

It Feels We Should Add All These three in a grinder and make a new iem ,The perfect iem ,The quest goes on and on

Man thts nice. U r getting bass near s4 from re1 with just udac

My Fiio E7 cant drive them well enough. But i like detail i get from E7 rather using it straight out of laptops HP out

HeHe.....I love to sing may be thts y i like vocals and mids

Any how i found S4 bass Is not 4 me. The bass has a upper hand and mids get shadowed by thm....i really dnt like tht.

Paaji i m happy if u put re0 and re1 only n grinder and get a new can out of it. I hope i wil found my piece of cans soon.....No more iems
