My Horror Story with Lynx India

My friend told me to post this here and is taken from the other forum .

Sup peeps!

So here goes. As part of my new build, I imported the bulk of the parts from the states [God bless New Egg]. The monitor and the case were too big to ship so I thought I'd buy 'em here. Lynx was recommended by a bunch of people and since they accepted Paypal too, I decided to get it from them.

Before I placed the order, I verified with the online support regarding the availability of the products in question since I wanted them shipped ASAP. I wanted either the 690 II or the NZXT Lexa S but was told they weren't available so I went with a tried and true first gen 690. I paid for it on the same day, the 27th. The order also contained a monitor and a few other goodies for the system including a couple of flash drives to boot off and a speaker.

Immediately after the purchase, the status of my order was changed to backordered. Pissed off, I contacted the owner, Amarbir, to verify. He vehemently told me that the item was in stock and that the backordered status actually meant processing. A little satisfied, I backed off.

On Friday, with still no updates, I again contacted Amarbir and was told that the item would be shipped on Monday. A little pissed off now, I decided to give them more time.

Fast forward to today. Still no status updates. So I contacted their customer support who tell me that the 690 is not in stock and they've ordered it else where and they haven't gotten it yet. I asked whether why I wasn't told this before. No reply. if they had told me I'd have just canceled the 690 from the order and gotten the case from elsewhere. But as I am finding out, they just like to repeatedly lie.

To make things worse, in order to claim a payment as mine, I have to start a thread in their forums with the transaction ID. I created mine on the 27th to which Amarbir responded and acknowledged the payment. The two threads I created along with my user account has been deleted there after I created a thread complaining about their lethargic and completely flippant attitude.

Here is another thread I created complaining about the issues there. Hope it doesn't get deleted as well. So, the moral of the story kids: Be careful about where you buy things from. Do your research, talk to the people first and tread carefully. And most of all, hope that they don't screw you in the bum as I've been now.

PS- If you're curious, the thread I linked to has a complete transcript of the conversation I had with the sales rep today.

Cheers!

Krogoth!

@OP:

How long back were you recommended Lynx...? TE is practically on the same page regarding this outlet, after a few incidents couple of months ago.

You guys seen Sushubh's blog. Is this guy on TE..? Here is the link.

Mephistopheles:

Yes, I am interested, cause I got faulty receipts from him for equipment worth quite a lot of money. When my RMA D-day comes, I will be at his mercy. Still I make a stand; instead of copy pasting a list.

I'm sorry to here that but Amarbir is a worthless and shrewd dealer, he's the kind of guy who will act all willing to help when selling the product, but after his profits are made he won't give a flying f*** about you.

I hope you get your refund, if you have payed via Paypal is there not a way to cancel the payment and get your money back and report Amarbir ?

Also, like I have been harping for sometime please do your online deals through Ebay or some other PROFESSIONAL E-Commerce website so as to avoid most issues you might have to pay a bit more but that bit will go a long way.

I just wrote what I have been observing, because almost all of the "lynx" related threads have had high number of eyeballs reading. My post was neutral, I'm not judging the people who are viewing this thread, nor was my intention to offend.

Really pissing off especially when you've paid for your stuff and have to wait for it. When Amarbir was new he was very efficient I got couple of things like dell lcd , hard drivers and graphics cards and got it on time. Sadly many are having issue with him . Lynx wake up

just couldnt resist  reading that

I myself had a bad experience with Amarbir when I bought an optical drive from him. The drive that he sent me was defective. When I called him up, he talked with me very rudely though I had merely asked very politely what my options were to get replacement. I was shocked and shaken but I always that it was one-off incident; now that I have stumbled on this thread, I realize that I am not alone. Its unfortunate that TE made his business grow.

You need to get some facts cleared out. At the end of the day, TE and such forums who allow sales are platforms. If you haven't noticed, they are "registered dealers", not tagged as "recommended dealers".

As for making his business grow- out of all the people who did deal/dealt with him, who complained to the mods/admins that amarbir is making people to register on his site even though they are buying stuff from him through this forum? I came to find out when a guy mentioned it on the market section (nerve racking experience thread??). Isn't it unfortunate that its the people who are to be blamed in a way? And besides, so many people got bad experience but how many of you lot have expressed it on itrader ratings? There have been people who had series of delays and got the stuff eventually, but they still given a positive i trader rating- why? They just give him a positive rating- or at max neutral rating.

Its unfortunate that PEOPLE made his business grow by recommending and turned a blind eye when they had an opportunity to express their bad experiences via i trader ratings, even though they had bad experience and reading series of bad experiences on almost daily basis on multiple tech forums.

If there are so many members having bad experiences with him, then Mods should remove his member status.

Why are the mods silent ?

They can create a thread where each member who has had bad experience with him can give his comments giving the details of the transactions & then the mods can give time to Amarbir to respond to them individually or collectively & if the mods are not satisfied, his dealer status should be cancelled

Maybe they wish to deals with him in future(no doubt he has some rare products, and prices are fair), and hoped this wont happen next time. And when some started feedbacks thread, everyone get to know, that he is not the only one to be the victim and that was the starting of the end.

Even i had experienced a 3 months delay for an order, and i was forced to start a thread here. Then he started playing the innocent game, and changed the order to something else of same value by directly calling me. And that was it, and my last purchase from him. He was yelling in phone, that he was under lots of stress and the thread boosted his stress, and i said i was on greater stress :D
