finally....i recieved my TF10 yesterday morning after a long wait due to rakhi... after 8 days!!

I bought these off a Head-fi indian member from Bangalore ....just three months old:ohyeah:

Here are some pics:

on very first look they looked great .... the box looks exotic, cable looked of good quality compaired to my image S4, The iems themselves look good ...nice color combination.

But using for a bit i realized that the cable is hard to manage and short ( i used it with a desktop amp, thus a problem. With a portable source the length would be fine, still it wouldn't have hurt to make the cable a foot longer). Sure the cable is tangle free( its hard ) but this also leads to cable memory ....currently they are round shaped , for they were packed in such a way.Buil quality is good the extra cables provided( last pic ....and hay what are these for) have a cheap build .

Coming from S4 i tried to insert them deeeeep inside my ears .....that hurt and soon i realized they give good isolation without much trouble, but just that ..good (with comply foams its very comfortable to wear ..and isolation feels better) . These are big IEMs meant to be worn over the ear for which a shape-able short patch in the cable is provided. These are the first iems i have used with overear design thus at first i was a bit uncomfortable with the fit.

I am yet to recieve my s:flo or HM -602 so i tested these with maverick D1 Amp/DAC

first thing i noticed is the bass is good, much better in quality and quantity than my S4. the mids are again better than s4 if not equal..i was worried much about the mids as the the TF10s are not praised for their mids. The treble is great ...no comparison with the s4 here miles ahead...still i dont find it more emphasized as some say. sense of space is good ...no where near k 702 though.

so far no complaints. these are great IEMs ....i am mighty happy as of now:clap: though these are second hand they dont feel like one ....box is unscratched and there are no scratches on the iems themselves.

Note : the compy foams are really comfortable and and bass is better with them (... may be)

EDIT : ============================================================

These dont pair nicely with maverick D1(DAC) ...i mean my blackberry 8520 drives them better
....with D1 the bass is bloated ....with BB its controlled
....with D1 instrument separation is very poor(..... VERY) ....with BB it improves a lot and i am able tho distinctively hear every instrument used.
....even the treble of TF10 is hampered by using D1 with it ...the snares do not sound good ..with BB it improves on that too

now BB's SQ is good ....i for one consider it to be better than ipod touch ...but i'd be wrong to give the credit to tthe Blackberry for TF10's good performance with them ...the IEMs are to be praised here ( also the praise goes to D1 for setting the standards so low that even my laptop sounds better with TF10)

The strengths of tf10 are bass and treble ...if D1 makes them do pooerly in that department ...its the worst dac/amp for TF10

I am yet to recieve my Sflo and HM 602 :(...will then comment more on SQ
Note : D1 are not bad DAC/AMP they drive my AKG very nicely (also s4) and have enough power to drive most headphones ....have almost all inputs ( coaxial, optical, multiple analog ) ...its just that they pair badly with Ultimate Ears Triple-Fi 10

Rs. 9,000

got 4 unused comply foams with it .... these are really great ....they have a short life though ( as i hear)

And then you tell me that you haven't got any fortune.
i 'd have got it for 8 if i had fortune !!....he withdrew the offer because of indian interest in the iems ...and then after 2 days came back with a higher price point ( 10K)

Congrats! I was aiming for the same pair, but missed it.

On TF10, do you find the mids recessed? That has been a common complaint. And what about a RE-262 Vs TF10 comparison after it arrives? ;)

yeah was worried about that too....have not listened to them much ...to comment on mids ...but they sure are better than S4....these are my first top-tier IEMs
am very exited about the comparison myself ....when will they ship the 262!!??

^ I asked Nankai and he said RE-262 would be available around Sep mid. Probably they will ship the HM-602 + 262 bundles just before that.

S:Flo2 vs HM-602 - that's another interesting review you can do :)

You got the Sflo as well as the HM-602 bundle :O Crazy ! Let me know if you dont like the -RE262 and want to let go..hahahah 262 vs TF10 that should be really interesting .Even more interesting would be Sflo vs HM-602 !!

i had ordered sflo late july .....came here went back due to some postage/custom problems ....if they had returned all i had paid earlier ...i'd've cancelld on the S:flo but they were deducting $35, so i went on with the it. HM-602 pre-order was just irresistible ...that wasn't me. thats ..my instincts.

....HM-602 should be much better than s:flo .....$450 MRP...!!!

will definatly do the comparison though

Don't go by the pricing , you will soon realize that in this crazy head-fi world MRP isnt proportional to the SQ . ;) The 602 should ofcourse be better sounding and more powerful as well.I wouldn't be surprised if it can drive the AKGs to decent levels .

Not really! Cost does not really determine how it sounds. HM-602 uses a TDA1543 DAC, which they mention as not in production for so long. IIRC, TDA-1543 is used in many NOS DACs, which sound warm. T51 (S:flo2) uses a WM8740, which might sound a bit neutral. Again, going purely by DAC chips is wrong as the implementation can make a HUGE difference to the sound signatures.

The Amp section of both could be different. You do have K702, which should give you enough indication about the power of the Amp section.

Supposing RE-262 gets priced at $200, you are getting HM-602 for $169, around the same price of S:Flo2 16GB? Think of it that way and do the comparison :)

Yeah i agree with Fah33m on his last comment. As you go higher, the relationship b/w SQ & price tends to be logarithmic as opposed to linear function with price on x axis & SQ on y axis.

Also, i have S:Flo2 but i dont know how to white a review! :P

All i know is that s:flo2 is somewhat better than my onboard realtek HD sound when using M2 on both. I havent done critical listening though :)

^ Enjoying the setup as well as critical listening are important for writing impressions / reviews IMO. Just enjoying the setup might result in giving wrong impressions to the readers and Ive see that happen often with some guys :P.

why to waste time in finding flaws in sound and going technical

thts y i never liked re0

the music which is less "flawed" is understandably more pleasant(/enjoyable/etc.) to hear
